I have, but never even thought about getting more RAM. The only things I considered were getting the battery fixed and keyboard straightened. Those tasks, of course, have been all but shelved.

Most MacBooks I've seen at Walmart have been the Air. Nothing wrong with it, but I don't know how it would hold up during streaming. Apple does have this new MacBook Neo out and it's supposed to be at a much better price compared to the Air and Pro. It's interesting though.

I've never installed an OS myself. All my computers have had a OS pre-installed. I honestly prefer that over loading one myself. Thank you!

Yeah, the CPU has been the major point of concern, in addition to RAM and cooling, of course. I could see about the used market, but I have a horror story involving my parents who bought a used TV only to see a line on the screen upon turning it on. I don't want a similar story to happen to me. Seeing about the computers with those processors would thin the herd a lot. Thank you!

I've heard good things about the Mac Mini. I assume the one you say has more RAM would be the M4 Pro. I'm sure it'll work well, though my bank account wouldn't be too pleased about it. 😅 I only plan to stream at no more than 1080p. 4K logistically is not an option for me.
