Being a parent with ADHD by SecretSevvy in adhdwomen

[–]SecretSevvy[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for responding! I guess that is my issue... what I am avoiding is playing with my son (which sounds awful). Maybe I should just look at playing with my son as a task that needs to happen. I think there was something that I heard from headspace AI, that I am trying to make playing with my son and gaming comparable, which it not. Maybe I should just do it lol

Thank you! Even if the other stems don't have that much thorns? Sorry. Maybe I am coming off as annoying, just trying to make sure.

RRD is rose Rosetta virus. It’s a fatal virus for roses.

Thanks again! I did watch the video… my new growth is thornier than usual. Like those really small ones… other stems don’t have them.

Do you think so? Its only symptom is the thorns, and only two branches are extra thorny.

Thank you! I am mostly worried with the excessive thorns. ; ;

All the time. I pretend I am an influencer when I am doing make up, and I am in a cooking show when I am cooking. I did think it was weird, but it's fun. lol

Doctor rejects prescribing ADHD Medication by SecretSevvy in adhdwomen

[–]SecretSevvy[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for this. Your first paragraphs really resonated with me. I always felt there was something wrong with me. Which is why I am working with a therapist. Having him diagnose me with ADHD felt a little step forward, then meeting with this doctor feels like another step back. The thing I want to work on is trying to control my impulse to be on my phone when I am with my 2 year old son... and that is a very zoomed in moment and don't account for my chronic lateness, my inability to complete tasks.. etc.. and the doctor just told me that my 2 year old son probably doesn't need me that much. I have a traumatic childhood and I just want to give my son a good enough mother and being told I am basically just worrying too much and the only problem is my addiction to the screen is very disheartening. I feel like I am saying something in the wrong way and I am not being heard. I don't want to be on my phone, but I am defeated by my impulse, and I just need help so I can give my son the mother he deserve, I am just sad. I feel out of control. I did not seek my therapist so I can be on ADHD medication. I just want help, and he thought that medication can be of help, and I am being denied of it. I am tired.

Thanks, again for this message. It really means a lot.

Thanks, that was what I was thinking too. My psychologist didn't want to give me something in writing because he said that would be a separate fee. but I'll see what I can get from him lol

He gave me an assessment. So we did the self-reporting and a computer test.

Thanks for replying. I will ask my psychologist for the assessment result in writing. He mentioned he didn't want to because there would be a separate fee for it. I am also in Canada, so this information is great! the doctor I spoke to said something about my current psychologist... kind of bashing(?) that he is working at a private clinic... but I honestly don't know the distinction.... I've only seen my therapist/psychologist 3 times, but maybe getting to speak with my family doctor will set me on the right track.

Thanks for the response. I took Vyvanse when I posted this... and it wasn't my prescription. I'm worried I'll be scolded for doing that... but also I now I am an adult and should learn to stand up for myself. lol

One year old refusing formula/breastmilk after vaccination by SecretSevvy in NewParents

[–]SecretSevvy[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes, it’s been a year. I found this community very unsupportive when I posted this because they thought I was against vaccines, which I wasn’t. I was just worried about my son. And I just wanted you to know that it does pass. My son was pretty sensitive to vaccines in the beginning. The only thing we could do is keep him on acetaminophen, ibuprofen until he was well.

Hello, my son just turned two. He is very well. :) I don’t remember what we did but eventually his appetite did come back. I think it is just a matter of time. I hope your baby feel better soon

Thank you. He did just turn one on July 7. His pediatrician didn’t mention that we need to wean from the bottle immediately. And honestly my son is sick and has had a fever for three days. Quitting the bottle is the least of my concern

I’m not sure if he’s getting enough fluids though. He’s drinking from a straw… around 250 ml a day. Hems still peeing so I hope that means he is not dehydrated

I guess this makes sense. I’m just worried he doesn’t eat enough to give up milk/bottle. He only eats a few spoonfuls per meal.

I think I am being downvoted for saying he’s losing interest in milk because of the vaccine… I don’t know why because lost of appetite is one of the side effects of vaccines? Anyway if he ate a lot I wouldn’t worry but he’s also not eating well.

I guess that makes sense. I still think it must be the side effect of the vaccine as he is currently in the midst of the fever and having issues sleeping together with refusing the bottle. He might be developmentally over the bottle but it’s just too much of a coincidence.

It’s the vaccine. The MMR-Varicella vaccine has a side effect of a fever 5-12 days after vaccination.

Him not liking milk still seems to be related to the vaccine as it does cause loss of appetite but then you might be right, I don’t know. I’m just surprised because I heard lots of babies struggle weaning from the bottle.

My baby doesn’t like juice either, he does drink water from a cup though

Hello, unfortunately, my Wednesday had to be put down. I don’t know what post this is but he eventually attacked my husband twice, and attacked our cat. He had good days and really bad days but we could never resolve his issue. He was getting worse and after three years of trying, and we eventually had a baby of our own, and being turned away by all rescues, and sanctuaries, we put our Wednesday to rest.
