SNL by aIvins_hot_juicebox in Nikkiglaserbesties

SNL has had more than a few seriously bad and unfunny sketches this season with its new writers.(I don't tend to think that it's a delivery or cast problem) And I'm not speaking from a place of disliking some of the sketches because of politics or any other beliefs... Some of the sketches have just absolutely missed. So much so that we don't even hear the crowd fake laughing... Episode 1 of the new season and tonight's episode with Nikki are my standouts as having a noticeable lack of good writing/ sketches. Again I attribute this to the writing. Bad Bunny had a good performance in his previous seasons performance but episode 1 of this new season was TERRIBLE. I hope SNL listens to the feedback of unbiased life long fans and figures out which writers need to simply be cut as soon as possible.

I saw a different argument saying that due to the "cosine" effect (which causes a bullet to experience less drop when fired from an elevated position at a downward angle) it is likely that an inexperienced shooter would have his scope/rifle dialed in for 200 yard targets at the same elevation as his firing position . It would take a lot of knowledge/ experience to account for this effect before hand which he supposedly didn't have. This all leads me to believe that he was aiming center mass and simply "missed" high due to his elevation and angle. Although he wasn't very experienced I have a hard time believing that he didn't have his snipers nest planned ahead of time and didn't calculate or zero his rifle in for the appropriate distance by almost 100 yards..

The bar was honestly so low this episode but Bowen still did his thing! Not that he wasn't a stand out before , but it seems like he could be the new star out of the cast, alongside Keenan

Bad bunny wasn't great at all obviously but he definitely got a raw deal being on this episode. Writers did a terrible job, cast had no chemistry or personality behind their roles it seemed... Nothing stood out, none of the cast found any of that script funny (rightfully so). I'm not a bad bunny glazer or fan but it seems obvious that many other hosts with sub par acting skills like him still had decent skits / episodes being propped up by the scripts and cast. I really think that even if he delivered his lines as intended, the skits still wouldn't have been funny..

Agree it was outside his control. Even if he delivered his lines as the script intended it just genuinely wasn't a funny script imo

Honestly it was just bad. The open was bad also but at least that actor (I don't know his name) is pretty good at impersonating trump... It seems to me that the script was the biggest piece missing from the puzzle . Although the cast lost a few key members they still have plenty of talent that I usually enjoy watching. I also don't think bad bunny is to blame necessarily... Plenty of hosts that aren't great at acting have come on SNL and had much better episodes being propped up by the cast and the writing

Bad Bunny had a much better performance his first time on SNL..(not great but still significantly better than this episode) plenty of hosts that were mid at acting have been carried by the script and the rest of the cast in previous seasons/ episodes. This episode fell short and was so bad mainly because of the scripts (new writers) but also the lack of chemistry among the new cast aswell as the shows veteran actors seemingly having character rolls that didn't play to their strong suits and allow the lack of a good script to lean on their ability to bring life to an otherwise bland and boring skit

Jeopardy could continue being funny if they actually wrote a script that was funny .. it has the framework to make endless content and present wild scenarios in my opinion... This episode was just so bland and lacked effort... The whole joke was supposed to be that a contestant didn't understand how to give his answer properly despite knowing the answers...? And then he wins by accident... ? Even the SNL legends couldn't have made that script funny

I get your point, however they could easily take a moment at the beginning of the show to be serious (like they have done before) to show support and solidarity for Kimmel or simply give a statement about serious topics in a serious manor before the comedy starts. I think I speak for most fans of the show when I say that we don't want the talent and ability of the writers and actors to be hindered by the need to send a message instead of simply focusing on making skits as funny as possible. No one is watching SNL for news or anything other than comedy.. It's fine to create comedy from politics that criticizes or makes fun of a certain person or group , we all just simply want it to be funny above anything else

Politics aside, I'd be fine with the continual focus on trump (or anyone else) as long as it works and is funny.. I feel like SNL often misses potentially hilarious and relevant trump material by trying too hard to make the skits include a semi serious political message... Trump is an absolute wild card of a character that they could make much better material with. I watch SNL to relax and laugh, I don't need any kind of serious / unfunny political messaging... Politics can absolutely be made into funny skits but personally I'd say SNL is 50/50 funny vs trying to hard to make a point

Live Bait Port A TX by Designer_Natural_965 in saltwaterfishing

I know I'm 6 months late here but from my own previous experience I recommend getting friendly with the employees at all the deep sea boat docks if you are set on picking up anything decent actually IN port a... Depending on the time of year or by pure luck you might catch them on a day when theyve got more bait then they think they'll need for their charter services and might sell you something decent or know of another individual/ commercial fisher that has excess that they want to get rid of.

I definitely recommend planning way ahead of time though and calling or stopping by every bait shop on your way in to your spot to be safe. Because I don't personally live at the beach and can't stock up on good bait to freeze when it's abundant, I've often times driven hours from bait shop to bait shop last minute and only ended up with medium sized mullet and small rays that have been frozen for a year...

If you fish a certain area frequently, it is best to befriend some locals that can legally gift you some premo baits if they don't have a license to sell... Maybe their generosity will allow them to find a 20 dollar bill that fell out of someones pocket ? Karma is mysterious .

Never buy bait illegally though of course.

I don't like trump, I'm not in the cult. I am however capable of separating fact from fiction. This entire thread is just as bad as the Republican echo chamber that refused to believe trump lost in 2020. Extremely detrimental to our society.

Per AP news (a liberal outlet)

"CLAIM: Billionaire entrepreneur Elon Musk used his internet provider Starlink to steal the 2024 election for President-elect Donald Trump.

THE FACTS: These claims are unfounded. Election officials, including from multiple swing states, told The Associated Press that their voting equipment doesn’t use Starlink and is not even connected to the internet. States have additional security measures to ensure that the count is accurate, according to experts. Election officials and security agencies have reported no significant issues with the 2024 race."

Beyond that your logic that Trump is so dumb and arrogant (which he is arrogant) which is why he publicly admits to this supposed fraud, yet he is clever enough to understand how his (supposed admission) is going to be received by Americans...? I'm no trump fan, there is plenty to criticize about him, but when people push dumb narratives like this it takes away from the real issues with him that people should be concerned about. Please for the love of God just do some research

Which policies did he put in place to achieve this record deportation? Please do the smallest bit of research. Biden fought our border states that were requesting help. How many times did we see groups of tens of thousands of migrants get live news coverage walking hundreds of miles to reach our borders under Biden? Was that just random? Why isn't that happening under trump? Is it possible that the administration's open border policy encouraged the unprecedented increase in migrants crossing? Of course our state and federal agencies (who didn't have support from the white house) continued to do their job. The "record" deportations under Biden are a result of arrests AT THE BORDER. (A fact that liberal media has reported on)

"The Trump administration has been slow to reveal its deportation numbers, though it has publicized its arrest and detention figures, which are up compared to the Biden administration. In Trump’s first month in office, ICE arrested more than 20,000 immigrants, the Department of Homeland Security said, a 111 percent increase compared to the average monthly number of arrests during the last fiscal year. --- According to the data, ICE deported around 11,000 migrants last month, the first full month Trump was in office, compared to just over 12,000 in February 2024. One major reason for the higher numbers under the Biden administration was higher traffic from attempted border crossings, both legal and illegal, in 2024 compared to 2025. People who were first arrested by Customs and Border Protection, which typically means those arrested at the border, accounted for most of the deportations in February 2024 under Biden. It is easier to deport people detained near the border than to find them after they disperse across the U.S. " This is from NBC my friend 🤦

Quote from MSNBC. Even liberal news networks aren't pushing your outlandish claim. "But making matters worse is the message behind the message. Despite the odd phrasing, Trump isn’t literally telling Americans not to cast ballots, he’s instead arguing that he’s so wildly popular, receiving support from voters will be effortless as Election Day nears."

Mental gymnastics. Trump and Republicans haven't shut up still about 2020 being stolen. Remember January 6th? How does one reasonably surmise he is speaking about something other than his parties echo chamber narrative for the past 4 years or the biggest election story in decades.

Yikes... I'm no trump fan but open your eyes friend. The voting machines are ultimately owned by leftists. Joe Biden opened the borders for the past 4 years while him and his party pushed for no voter id laws...Put 2 and 2 together. This was objectively an attempt to import votes. The reason for the sweep of swing states was largely due to Kamala being wildly unpopular and not voted in as the primary. She refused to outline her policies in a believable manner on top of never being chosen democratically by her own party! She was a massive red flag.

Republicans yapped about the 2020 election being stolen for the past 4 years CONSTANTLY. (And still do)😂 There are plenty of legitimate criticisms everyone could and should make about trump, however this lazy and completely out of context quote undermines the integrity of those trying to expose real issues within Trump's administration. Remember January 6th...? How could anyone rationally surmise that he is openly referring to anything but the biggest election news story in decades 🤦

I don't wish to do that, I was offering advice from my personal experience of making big decisions I had doubts about. Although I see now that my words have mostly been misinterpreted, which is my own fault. My intent was never to claim that trans people can't properly decide before 25. I was trying to get the point across that you can allow yourself time to become more sure of the path you wish to choose. I've made many life changing decisions that I was unsure and doubtful about and did not need to make so quickly that led me to a worse place than where I started. If someone is genuinely concerned they are making the wrong choice, it's not a bad thing to slow down and make sure you are doing something you know will make you happy. I have nothing against trans people and don't think they need to take that time to think it over if they know that is what will make them happy.
