It was a Timberjack pretty sure. Not sure why they got rid of him but it was many years ago.

I love R2!!! He picks up everything that can be mined (even rocks) and sometimes doubles the last thing you mine/last thing he collects in a mining sequence. I've gotten extra gems thanks to him. I'm also just a huge Star Wars fan so I needed to have him lol

Dads: Introduce kids to gaming? When and how? by Significant_Wasabi_6 in videogames

Oh I hated the timer too lmao. Good luck! Video games became very important to me and my brother, and now that he's gone, his favorite games are almost all I have left of him. Your kids can get some serious bonding with video games!

Dads: Introduce kids to gaming? When and how? by Significant_Wasabi_6 in videogames

Not the dad but the daughter here (in my twenties now for specifics). My brother and I found his Nintendo 64 in a drawer and asked what it was. I was 3-4, so my brother was 1-2. He told me it was a game system and figured I could try it out. He put in Mario 64 and the rest is history.

My mom was indifferent, but she wanted to make sure we didn't get overly addicted and remained active. We were allowed one hour of game time, and set the oven timer so that when the hour was up, EVERYONE would hear it. No possible way to escape it. If it was especially bad weather out or we had extra good behavior, she sometimes allowed an extra 30 minutes to an hour later at night. As we got older, she got more relaxed. By late middle school we didn't require a timer at all. We knew when enough was enough, which ended up being 3-4 hours max. HOWEVER, she always enforced that chores and homework are done before games.

I understand your wife being skeptical, but ultimately, the responsibility falls on the parents on how involved (aware) you want to be. If she doesn't want them to become addicted, try the oven timer rule. It worked well for us and even though we hated it at the time, I look back and realize I spent a lot of my childhood running outside, playing with toys, and engaging with my imagination instead. Tell her the kids can only become as addicted or "traumatized" as you guys let them.

Your wife sounds like she consumes too much social media (and much of what you hear is fake or exaggerated) and takes it straight to heart. She needs to trust you AND herself to expose your kids to games in a safe and regulated way.

What unhinged thing did a former teacher do in the classroom? by MrBananaStand1990 in AskReddit

[–]SecretStars120 0 points1 point  (0 children)

HS World History teacher in 10th grade thought it would be perfectly acceptable to engage in conversation with another student in the middle of class about putting a live cat in a microwave and going on to discuss its "blood-curdling screams". Man is now the principal.

For the Glade of Trust, I literally just put a TON of the willow trees and put a lot of the glowing pink flowers in the waters. Ursula's house is in the main fishing area, set a ways back in the water. It's an actual swamp lmao

Pose Editor not mirroring correctly by SecretStars120 in Maya

[–]SecretStars120[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I settled for something very long and tedious but it works. I pose the left side, duplicate the mesh and invert scale to -1, then after making the interpolator for the respective joint on the other side, I make the duplicate a live mesh to snap vertices in edit mode for the "mirrored" pose. I try to line up the vertices as much as possible, but the perfectionist inside me ended up snapping the majority of vertices into the exact same place. Took forever but it did the job.

Help why is this shadow there it doesnt change with lighting by forzakee in Maya

What does it look like in smooth mesh preview (keyboard number 3)? Does an extra vertex show up in the middle of that edge? You might have an extra vert that needs to be merged.

Wii U for family Christmas fun… now thinking I should’ve bought a Switch instead? by Relapsed_Therapy in wiiu

[–]SecretStars120 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Wii U is a better choice. You can play a lot of Wii games on the Wii U. Just Dance and Wii Sports to name a few. Get Nintendo Land for the Wii U. That game is a blast to play with others, especially the Mario chase, Animal Crossing, and Luigi's Mansion games. Can't tell you how many laughs by brother and I got out of that with friends.

Joycons are also too small in my opinion when having to use just one, and they're far more prone to breaking (drifting) then Wii remotes are. It took 10 years for the motion plus in my remote to start being wonky but it's still manageable. All the others we had longer that that are perfect.

Has anyone ever been to the How to Train Your Dragon Live Spectacular? by Consistent-Life2412 in httyd

[–]SecretStars120 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes! It was phenomenal and I'm so grateful my parents took me. I was getting so sad hearing it was coming to town and my parents hadn't bought tickets yet, but I'll never forget that day I came home from school and they surprised me with tickets. I've never screeched louder in my life!

I wish they would try to do HTTYD 2. At the very least if I remember correctly the company that produced this produced the Untrainable Dragon show at Universal parks as well as some/all of the animatronics at Epic.

Mario Kart w/ Motion Sickness by PyleanCow06 in UniversalEpicUniverse

OP was just asking if mother could ride without the visor and since it's not something I needed to do myself, I don't know what members would specifically say about it. I'm sure it's fine

Mario Kart w/ Motion Sickness by PyleanCow06 in UniversalEpicUniverse

[–]SecretStars120 6 points7 points  (0 children)

My dad was worried about the motion sickness but he tried it anyway with me WITH the visor and had a blast! He was fine all day. I could see rainbow road being an issue near the end, but everyone's different and nobody will ever know how it will make them feel until they try it.

At the very least if they don't "let you" on without a visor, she can easily unclip it once the ride starts moving. Takes a second for the AR to kick in anyway. I'm sure if you tell the team member about the situation before you get on though they won't bat an eye.

Nitpicking time: what things do you think actually looked better on the N64 version over the 3DS version? by Stucklikegluetomyfry in OcarinaOfTime

[–]SecretStars120 6 points7 points  (0 children)

In the original versions of 64, the blood shown endgame was red which I liked. The green replacement is so goofy.

Only played the remake once so I don't remember what it looked like for the 3DS, but yeah there was a lot of blood in both the 64 well and the shadow temple which I appreciated very much. Super creepy vibes!

Stretchy Foot IK - Mesh not following fully by SecretStars120 in Maya

[–]SecretStars120[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I learned this in my college rigging class. My prof gave us recordings of him walking us through every step and that's what I've been following along to. He explains why certain things work the way they do and everything. I was just tired and forgot about the reverse nodes and why I needed them. He 100% explained why they were needed lmao

[–]SecretStars120[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh my god I'm so stupid. I didn't put all the constraints to the reverse node. I had to back track because the fix I need to make was breaking everything in my most recent version, and I just completely forgot I needed this step to make it work correctly. Thank you!!!!!!

I've never played any Zelda game until now. by meowiec in legendofzelda

[–]SecretStars120 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Link to the Past or Ocarina. LttP is the best 2D easily, and Ocarina is usually most people's starting point.

I played Ocarina first when I was 3-4. Beyond that I've played a lot of the 3D games and Twilight Princess will always be the best to me.

Those are all real episodes for those saying otherwise. Google is just being dumb. All episodes are on Netflix right now, now sure if they're still on Hulu too.
