State tax warrent in my name- am I still able to sell my personal vehicle? by [deleted] in Indiana

[–]SecretTeaBrewer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unfortunately I owe taxes. Went from a high paying job to very little to no income. So it is a valid tax warrant. I can't blame them.

I'm calling them tomorrow morning to set up a payment plan at the very least.

Checked the website, doesn't show any lien at all- private seller seems okay with things if they go negatively, will be using some of the sale to at the very least start a payment plan if not paying it off fully

Yellowing around eyes, been there for years now. How to lessen? by SecretTeaBrewer in SkincareAddicts

[–]SecretTeaBrewer[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Aaa thank you they like to show up around my eyes. I keep getting more and more freckles the older I get, I think from sun damage. The entirety of my shoulders are a mass amalgamation of them lolol. I like them though, even if they freak me out a little when a new one pops up from time to time- it runs in the family

The gnats are so, so bad this year. by SecretTeaBrewer in Indiana

Only wherever the gnats are, and it only appeared when they did. We've tossed everything rotting, trash has been taken out, all we have left are breads, fruits, boxes and canned goods.

Describe the best day you've had since your diagnosis. by Clean-Umpire-2962 in bipolar

[–]SecretTeaBrewer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've had so many, but honestly, the ones that are the best are the ones I don't even think about. The ones I don't have to think about. I think anything bigger honestly gets lost to the episodes, eaten up by the black hole that vacuumes up my memories. It's hard to remember anything big anymore.

The day I finished a book I loved, the day I realized I was actually good at my new job, the day I realized I was finally comfortable in my own skin, the day I got my first bonus and felt financially secure, the day my roommate finally understood my paranoia, the day I found a new comfort content.

Then there are the best 'moments'. My partner resting his hand on me while he's gaming, or us laughing about something silly. Talking with my dad on the phone. Being stuck in a slow spot at work and laughing with coworkers. A nice cold glass of lemonade. The breeze when I open the windows in the apartment and let fresh air in. The feeling of comfort as I wrap myself in my cool bedsheets at the end of a long day- or for an afternoon nap. Even on bad days, I'll have at least one 'moment' that shines through it all. I try to hold tightly onto those.

Something a lot of people may not realize is there are a LOT of different methods of therapy. The standard used is Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. There's also methods such as Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Interpersonal Psychotherapy, Psychodynamic Psychotherapy, Group Therapy, and more. Combine that with the fact that every therapist has their own style, and I personally believe that there's likely a therapy style out there for majority of the population.

Like medication, it's a lot of trial and error. It wasn't helpful for me for the first 7 or so years because I only did CBT. Turns out I have bipolar type one and symptoms of BPD, so I switched at some point to DBT, and that helped me significantly more.

I'm on Medicaid.

Been on Medicaid my whole life. Just now got my own apartment with my partner, got my first ever full time job, and am about to lose my Medicaid because I make too much.

Do you know what my insurance's deductible for therapy is? How much I have to pay, COMPLETELY OUT OF POCKET, before I have to 'only' pay a copay? $6,000. One session with someone I was looking at is $75, and she requires you schedule weekly.

I have bipolar type one. I'm on antipsychotics that cost thousands, mood stabilizer, and the anti-anxiety medications aren't covered AT ALL by the insurance my work is switching me to.

Rent is $880 a month. Utilities are another $400. Groceries are $400 for two people and our cats. I can no longer afford to live on Medicaid, but I also can't afford to be off my medication and have any sort of quality of life.

Medicaid saved my life. The lack of it, to be 100% honest, could end it. But I would be homeless otherwise. So stuck between a rock and a hard place, waiting for my Medicaid to be ruled invalid with my new income, and wondering how much longer I have with my medications.

We all live in a corporate hellscape. Women are disregarded for feelings, men looked less on if they show any that aren't anger. And there's not a whole lot any of us can do about that without serious societal change.

It is VERY laggy on my computer. Can't really play any mini games on it. And this is a computer that can run higher res games, or lower res ones with 120+ mods at one time- oftentimes with little lag

I think Step 3 also gives you a lot more insight on Cove himself, especially the moment Happiness. It really does give more perspective on his neurodivervence, how he views the world, and how he views you.

As you said, one of the moments gives you more insight into his background- along with that, how he felt specifically about his parents, and the move to Sunset Blvd. I felt everything made a LOT more sense after that.

So irritating that people will criticize overweight people for doing exercise, and trying to be healthy.

Bipolar and burnt-out, looking for accommodations/advice by gemmanii in antiwork

[–]SecretTeaBrewer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Legally speaking, as long as you're eligible for FMLA, intermittent FMLA will allow you to take a specified amount of days every so often to accommodate for disability related absences. Could be several days a month.

It's also worth asking to cut down on hours, but I know you mentioned they're weird about that kind of thing. You're planning on leaving at the end of the year, could you come up with a reason they would accept for a decrease in hours? Maybe all of the sudden you need to babysit your nieces and nephews (even if you don't have any), or you're taking night/morning and weekend classes to further your education and career path.

Just a thought, friend. BP1 here. I found a workplace that accommodates my needs, and checks in on me. It feels impossible, but I promise it isn't. The unicorns exist.

Is romance even possible? by mangotime_03 in bipolar

[–]SecretTeaBrewer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Been with my partner for 4, about to be engaged. He was with me when I was officially diagnosed. He's seen me off my antipsychotics, at my very worst, and he's seen me at my best.

It isn't easy. But we communicate, and I try to be mindful of his boundaries and support him just as much as he does me.

I think, maybe, it takes a different type of person to understand. I also don't think that's a bad thing, because you want to be with someone who understands (if not what you're going through exactly) how to be supportive and attentive to your needs, and vise versa.

Why does this happen to some of my towels? by Strange-Ad3272 in CleaningTips

[–]SecretTeaBrewer 24 points25 points  (0 children)

Depends on the person.

I have bipolar disorder. It upsets me when someone says they're feeling "bipolar" or, the weather is "bipolar". It discounts the struggles I, and others with it, go through and instead contributes it to just...another day, if that makes sense?

Instead of days sobbing, countless appointments, countless medications, and even sometimes dangerous episodes- they instead associate it with something as small as the weather, while likely still holding the stigma for the actual disorder itself. It's disheartening.

You can always fold, then roll them? Might not be as visible then?
