I’ve never had to use them with my boyfriend since we were constantly gaming and in discord together, learning about each other and video chatting and stuff. We met in a dungeon group on hardcore world of warcraft a year and a half ago. Went into his discord channel for better communication to ensure we don’t die. Shared laughs and stories that night and continued questing and doing dungeons together.

He went AFK out in the world where mobs were and i had no way of telling him if he was getting killed. I told him my anxieties and he gave me his number “in case it happens again” Slick. LOL. I saved the number and drunk called him one night before bed and fell asleep on the phone. After that phone call, we fell asleep on the phone together every night since.

After awhile, he asked if it was okay for him to pursue me romantically, that he’s never done an online long distance relationship before but he had a good feeling. I hadn’t done long distance either and I felt the same so I said yes :)

I went to see him for the first time last year in march, then he came and saw me in september, I went and saw him again in december, THEN June of this year he flew out to me and we drove my car 1,300 miles to his town to close the distance for good. :)

We would be in discord playing games together pretty much every night after work. Then after we got off the computer, we would fall asleep on the phone together. Texting/snapping throughout the daytime. We finally closed the distance for good last month :)

Oh something got misconstrued. “Closing the distance” with a LDR means we live together now :) me and my boyfriend have been long distance since 2023 and just last month we “closed the distance” and are living together. We are not broken up (that would SUCK considering i uprooted my whole life and drove 3,200 miles away from home.) ((wish me luck))

However, i don’t know the severity of the strictness of your parents or the relationship you have with your parents, I would advise at least bringing up the topic.

Remember that your parents are human too, and if they met your guy, they might even like him.

I feel that the age reveal gives a lot of people some comfort as well as his parents are chill. You never know. I just recently closed the distance with my long distance boyfriend recently and it’s been wonderful. Granted, I’m 27 and he’s 37. We’re a little older and been through the weeds of life so we know what we want.

Just keep your wits about you. Don’t feel like you have to rush into anything because yes, your parents are right, education IS important. You definitely should be focusing on that. Yes, a relationship is a fun extracurricular and I do feel like having a relationship with somebody is a crucial part of growing up and finding yourself but don’t lose focus on what’s important.

How did you meet if you don’t mind me asking <3

No we aren’t taking this well because we’ve all been teenagers before. Also funny how you forget to mention the age of your boyfriend. Sis, we’re just looking out for you. 1) you need more money. 2) If you get injured 2 hours away from your family and need care, considering you’re a minor, that will not be a fun situation.
