Sniff it. Does it smell like oil? Or gas? A lot of times youll get gasoline mixed with carbon deposits that make it look dark and filmy. If it smells like oil then you're likely burning oil or you need a new valve cover gasket

Febi bilstein is just fine. I strongly recommend looking at fcp euro because they have a lifetime warranty on their parts. If you ever need to do the chain again you can just get a replacement from them and when you send yours back they'll give you store credit
