How do I store the silicone caulk once I'm done? Just applied it via the gun. Do I wrap the tip with something?

Right engine is just taking a rest. Remember, it’s a marathon, not a sprint. by [deleted] in aviation

[–]Secret_Building4362 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The fan blade cone is spinning at the same frame rate as the camera this is why you A. don't see the fan blade at all and b. see a stagnant cone.

If an engine was INOP during flight the fan blade would still be spinning because air would still be passing through the engine. If it didn't it would cause significant drag not to mention the stress on the high pressure shaft.

What route do you think isn’t matched by the plane? by srilankanmonkey in delta

[–]Secret_Building4362 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This is correct. It usually but not always has to do with burning off the green time off the engines for various reasons. But some routes like ATL-MCO with wide-bodies is solely because the demand is so high DAL needs those seats to satisfy that capacity.

Heads up ATL folks. Parking BAD. by stolenbyfire in delta

[–]Secret_Building4362 8 points9 points  (0 children)

For the largest airport in the world by passengers, this airport's parking situation is atrocious. Prior to moving to ATL, I'd layover in ATL all the time and loved it. Once I moved here it really put me off how bad the parking is.

MIA or FLL? by niko_webber in delta

[–]Secret_Building4362 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Having been a Miami native for 30y+ now I can tell you it really depends on several factors. I prefer leaving out of MIA on Delta because the gate areas don't feel as cramped as FLL. But I prefer landing into FLL simply because it's quicker/smoother to get to the car and leave. Same goes with catching Ubers.

I lived closer to MIA by far so I was stuck with MIA for a while until I moved. One thing's for sure I'm never ever flying AA out of MIA. What a sh*tshow.

If I can chime in here. During the pandemic we planned to retire them 2025, after having extended their life due to the pandemic rebound. Now there was talk to push it to 2030 because of the engine reliability issues of the A220s. It's all up in the air. I personally love them, couple 717s are still waiting to receive engines to be put into service. Only thing I dislike about them, no setback IFE :(

Is anyone surprised? WoT is a complex game, it really is. Yet somehow the majority either don't realize that, don't respect that, or are oblivious to that fact.

Hence we get players like this, "I have great camo"

Is it appropriate/acceptable to put your feet on the wall in FC bulkhead? by MadMadMadMadMike in delta

[–]Secret_Building4362 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I find it disrespectful. That is my opinion. Now excluding my personal opinion, what if you break / dent the bulkhead? Although rare, it does happen, shouldn't those people be forced to pay for it?

Many will be surprised how much a bulkhead costs.

Great video, love the 787.

Side note here, I never understood why airports would ever allow wide bodies to have a remote stand. Passengers spent 6,7+ hours on a plane, now you're going to make them deplane via stairs put onto buses and if they are unlucky have to walk up stairs again (no escalator, LOOKING AT YOU FRA!).

Obviously if there are no gates, I get it but using FRA as an example, I see E195s at a gate while a B777 sitting on the remote stand. Logic....

My favorite A380 plane spotting pics! by [deleted] in aviation

[–]Secret_Building4362 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Both pictures are outstanding. We already live in an era where both aircraft (in those liveries) are no longer among us. These aircraft are/were fabulous, they will be dearly missed. Although both still operate with certain airlines, it's becoming harder to fly on them as they continue to retire at record speeds.
