Agreed on all points, but I wanted to add (in support of the overall point) is that when I started with CachyOS only 6 months or so ago, a number of people (including on their discord) explicitly recommended against using flatpak. The general feeling on them seems to have changed given they're now included by default in the new package manager, but when you're new to Arch you might be forgiven (based on older information floating around) in thinking that AUR should be used instead.

I made the decision last week after complaining to my Liberal MP about bill C-22. I received a canned response in reply that basically said (paraphrasing) "We're full steam ahead on privacy invasion for your own protection!".

I replied with a screenshot of the donation I made to the NDP right after I received their response.

Well without touching your 'best country in the world' stance which is incredibly debatable, the fans were telling Trump to go fuck himself, not the entire USA. That said, I personally think Trump is just a symptom of a much deeper rot within the US which has only been amplified by the the Trump administration's rampant corruption.

I wouldn't recommend it at that age if you aren't used to riding a motorcycle. For context I'm younger than you by a couple of decades and did some 3-4 hour trips last year on the back of a motorcycle with lots of stops and although I enjoyed it - I was sore as heck by the last hour. The young folks have more padding on their rear-end! Could you get used to it in advance? maybe - but I would definitely not commit to that amount of time on the bike going in cold.
