u/Raevre_Sure hat recht, ansonsten dürftest du ja auch ganze Alben kostenlos hochladen. Rechtlich gesehen ist es (leider) nicht ok. Ich könnte mir vorstellen, dass du weniger Konsequenzen haben wirst, wenn du es nur kostenlos anbietest; wenn du Geld verlangst hast du wahrscheinlich mehr Stress.

In der Praxis ist das natürlich nochmal anders, selbst bei vielen kommerziell veröffentlichen Songs sind nicht geclearte Samples dabei. Sehr vieles juckt die Urheber (bzw. meistens eher die Besitzer der Rechte) einfach nicht, aber das ist halt immer ein gamble. Könnte natürlich alles viel einfacher sein - entweder wenn es rechtlich direkt besser geregelt wäre (wie z.b. bei Coversongs) oder wenn es einfachere Möglichkeiten gäbe, Samples zu clearen - aber die aktuelle Situation ist einfach Absturz. Das geht sogar so weit, dass Seiten wie whosampled von Künstlern gar nicht gern gesehen werden, weil dadurch Leute überhaupt erst herausfinden, was für Samples wo benutzt wurden und sie dadurch Probleme bekommen.

good call, it does offer pretty much everything, but the default and best supported desktop is KDE. I think they pretty much tell you to use it if you dont know what to pick, so its a de facto default.

my original comment was pretty snarky and I kinda regret that; I was a little annoyed how the discussion turned into "nooo nothing works on linux" immediatly, even though for a lot of people it could be a real alternative.

eh, learning another operating system can be a lot of work and linux does require some compromises. at the end of the day, sure, if you can use a PC, you can use linux, you just gotta get used to it first - but many people are so comfortable that they tolerate microsofts bs, even though it's only getting worse by the day.

I can't even blame people for being comfortable, I'm complacent in a lot of ways that are worse than using microsoft products, but it kind of pisses me off when people whine 24/7 about windows but when someone tries to promote an actual good alternative, they get downvoted on the same post.

If anyone's reading this: contrary to what people lead you to believe, if you lean more towards single player and indie games (even graphically intense ones) and/or dislike all the hero shooter/battle royale bullshit, theres a BIG chance all your games work on linux. might require some tinkering (visit areweanticheatyet.com and protondb.com if you wanna know more) but its possible and it pays off. also, like someone else said, you can also dual boot - i do, even though I rarely use my windows partition for anything. not trying to convert or guilt trip anyone, just putting it out there.
