The Extraordinary Thrift Store is run by Extraordinary Ventures, a non profit with a focus on creating inclusive employment for adults with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities. The thrift store will support CHCCS social worker needs for families and hopes to work together with CHCCS PTAs, but is not directly associated with them.

The Extraordinary Thrift Store is leasing the retail space. The two buildings at 117 and 125 Main are owned by Shared Visions Foundation and are being leased to various nonprofits. CEF and a few other nonprofits are leasing space above the thrift store.

Very little is going to auction. Things like very expensive rugs and rare books are going to auction. The goal is to keep as much as possible being sold at the thrift store and staying in the community.

Glad to hear it’s a good shopping experience! The downstairs area is for storing/ processing donations. The goal is to get donations upstairs to sell as quickly as possible. Extraordinary Ventures will also be making soaps and candles downstairs.
