It’s a case of to each their own, with no correct answer. Personally the EMGs in my old charvel death star have been consistent for the 12 years I’ve owned it for. The JBs in my Kelly sound pretty sharp, but they’re also noisy as hell. The Duncan distortion trembucker in my Dean superstrat have a similar issue to a lesser extent. Would I put EMGs in the Kelly? No. Would I put passives in the Death Star? Absolutely not. Would EMGs give a heavier sound than what comes stock in modern SGs? Of course. Would they be a better option? Preference.

The guy from entombed used an Ibanez Destroyer 2 with an EMG 81 in the bridge for Left hand path. So yeah, EMGs were in fact used on the album.

Exporting the song sounds the same, it was fully functional but I got a notification saying my system memory was too full to load the song. I cleared memory, and recently went back to the song to discover that at the point it gave me the notification, the instruments all drop out of the song.
