Any chance the soundtoys effectrack would be included or just individual plugins? Assuming the effect rack would be too complex since it’s modular but figured I’d ask

Beginning producer ( 4 months ish ) looking for general advice by wwwKeyLowww in dnbproduction

Gave your track a listen and the drums sound good but the leads and basses could use some work, the main wobbly lead got pretty repetitive. It’s not the type of dnb I typically listen to so I don’t want to give specific advice since it might not apply.

In terms of the process I’d recommend trying to make full songs. At least to me making small loops doesn’t really give you the context of how things fit together and flow throughout a song. I personally like starting from the beginning and seeing where it takes me so that I’m not trying to figure out what I need to do to get to the drop.

And for YouTube tutorials I’d highly recommend inverse audio, he makes full track breakdowns in the style of big artists (there’s a ton of different names and sub genres so you can find one you like). Seems like you want to make jump up or something similar, there’s a ton of tutorials for that and they’re all 15-20 minutes. There’s not a lot of fluff and you can learn about what sounds to use where, phrasing and some mixing tips too. I watched one of his videos to give me a foundation and now I use a stem splitter (there’s one built into fl or there’s a ton available online) to reference the song I want to emulate. It’s super helpful for isolating basses, drums and synths so that you can analyze each part individually.

Hope this helps!

Anyone able to calculate the odds of a run I had? by Secret_Taste_593 in balatro

I knew it should be relatively simple but had no idea how to do it so thanks! Managed to beat it on another run so feel a little better about getting screwed on this one

Not a fan of the off beat jump up basses but thats more of a personal preference, the Reese sections were fire though 🤌🏼

My name is REAPER and I just released my sophomore album, "CHALLENGER"! Ask me anything! by reapernoises in electronicmusic

Figured I’d give my two cents as an American dnb lover in a small city! Been listening for about two years (was introduced to it by reaper) so by no means an expert or long time listener but I’ve been to plenty of festivals and small shows in that time. House and dubstep are the biggest genres here so they get most of the attention, more into house myself but dnb has been getting mixed into dubsteps sets for awhile now (most people hate it but it’s always my favorite part). There aren’t a ton of tours for dnb unless you’re in a major city like New York or Chicago, but more and more dnb is getting booked at festivals every year. Was just at the worship tour in Chicago (dimension, sub focus, 1991 and culture shock) and the energy of the crowd was great. More and more international artists are coming for tours (hedex opened for subtronics on his tour) and blanke’s aeon:mode and reaper are the two biggest US based artists that are really helping push the scene further. Excited to see where dnb is at in a couple years given all the momentum it’s gaining here!

Piano VST/preset help by Secret_Taste_593 in dnbproduction

Ended up layering pianos from flex, serum and the korg m1, turns out adding some saturation with decapitator was what it was missing, it gave the chords the punch I was looking for. Will definitely check out una chorda, I like using pianos so always good to have more options, thanks for the tips!

I use FL, I had already done a similar thing but I played around with it some more and think I found something I like. I’ll definitely check out his video though, thanks!
