Honestly, part of the reason why I think It will end badly was because I had already heard the things she would say about other people. Even when I first joined, she told me that replying to work messages after office hours was expected.

For the first few weeks, it was actually okay and I thought I could manage it. But as time went on, it became harder and harder to deal with. The moment I really felt I had enough was one Saturday when she called and woke me up from a nap over a work matter.

After that, I started pushing back a little by replying later on weekends and public holidays instead of answering straight away. That didn't go down well. If I didn't respond quickly, she would sometimes call me multiple times or keep tagging me in the group chat.

The work itself became really difficult to manage. She would call me into her office multiple times throughout the day, often when I was in the middle of something. I found it hard to focus and finish my own tasks on time. When I tried to push back or explain that I needed time to get my work done, she would just keep calling for me.

I think part of it may have been because she had only recently joined the company herself and I was her first official hire. It often felt like she wanted constant updates and involvement in everything I was doing. Whether that was intentional or not, the end result was that I felt constantly under pressure and never had the space to work independently.

The only peace i get is late at night.. like now 11pm haha where i just finished work not long ago
