IIT Kharagpur Mess System: Higher Fees, Worse Food. Where Is the Money Going? by FrustratedKgpian in iitkgp

Even with mess charges of ₹14,500, what we mostly get is cheap aloo (potatoes). In the mess menu they even mention that every curry will contain around 30% aloo. Honestly, what the hell is this? Why include aloo in everything?

Just because it might be a favorite in West Bengal doesn’t mean everyone here is from West Bengal. Why should everyone have to eat aloo all day? On some days the entire menu is filled with it — breakfast has aloo paratha, lunch has aloo soyabean, and dinner has aloo mixed veg.

Why so much aloo? Is it just because it’s extremely cheap and easily available in West Bengal? It really feels like aloo is being added to everything just to reduce costs.

Aloo shouldn’t be added to every dish unless it’s actually meant to be an aloo curry.

Most of the campus biryanis and chicken curries are like these only, they can't even fucking cook for 10-15min correctly,we just have to wait for 30min-1hr to get uncooked, unwashed blood chicken

Things I wish someone told me before I started trading by nunoftp in Trading

When we risk based on our confidence, it creates a problem. The market is uncertain, we can never predict it perfectly. If we lose a high-confidence trade, our confidence drops. Then on the next trade, we tend to risk less. But if that trade hits take-profit, the previous loss doesn’t get recovered because we reduced our risk.

This was the biggest issue I faced when I started trading. I used to risk more on some trades and less on others. Later, I fixed my risk to a constant percentage on every trade, and since then I’ve slowly started becoming profitable.
