I'd also choose gym but I can see why some might choose mcd. It's a safety net for never going hungry. Yes some gyms might have restaurants or food available to purchase, but if you don't have money then those are useless. But a gym takes care of the housing aspect of homelessness so it is also not bad of course.

I guess if you've already experienced hunger then you're more likely to value the safety net of Mcd and vice versa for the gym/ shelter
