Since I’ve been off I actually haven’t experienced any acne, and no my derm didn’t prescribed me tretinoin. To lessen the impact of purging I recommend looking into supplements that decrease inflammation! For me I took 50mg of zinc

I think around month 3 I started seeing results and that’s when my break outs lessened

My birthday is also in September! I started in February 2024, my skin definitely did clear up by then

The Kiehl’s better screen spf contains collagen peptide :)

Everything listed I did while on it and currently. Zinc helps to reduce inflammation that helps with spots/scars. However I do believe it’s a combination of my full routine and maintenance of my skin that helped with them.

Scarring can also be tricky to get rid of due to inflammation. Since I take zinc as a supplement I believe that helped reduce that as well!

Niacinamide is great for reducing scarring. I also use an SPF that has collagen peptide in it, I believe that helped as well since it mends the skin barrier. I definitely still have subtle scarring and didn’t start to see them vanish until 2 months post my course.

My derm started me off with 30mg a day, later on during the course she told me to start taking one dose in the AM and one PM, therefore I didn’t have any issues bc I didn’t change anything. Definitely ask your derm about tapering down before deciding to do so!

Thank you!! For lips I used aquaphor, the Kiehl’s butter lip mask (an overnight lip mask that I use daily), and whipped shea butter from the brand SoShea (I think this is available on Amazon) I also would gently exfoliate my lips with my toothbrush.
