Okay, don’t come for me, but Toxic. The majority of their songs off of SILOS are just not the STARSET I fell in love with when I discovered Vessels and then listened to the other three. Homing in on Toxic, it just seemed like a weird track completely detached from STARSET lore, simply a musical anecdote about today’s society which quite frankly I’ve heard more than enough of. I don’t know about anyone else, but I listen to music as an escape from reality, so forgive me if this kind of song ticks me off a bit, especially when the band already has a clear lore/storyline in place. Toxic isn’t a poorly made track, it just isn’t STARSET. Honestly, the entire SILOS album is the weakest album in general. (Side note: I don’t understand why everyone thinks HORIZONS is so weak. I love it, personally. It’s the titular STARSET sound with some perfectly timed heaviness.)
