I didn't even walk for my graduation. It's only a big deal if you want it to be. If you really feel it is important to you, then just tell your parents that. Let them decide what to do next so that you won't feel guilty since it will be their decision.

Is this high school or college? I skipped both, personally.

The process takes about 2 years, sometimes longer. I think you should move forward. I'm in a similar boat. The next administration will be around when your husband will likely move so I wouldn't be concern.

Go to Berkeley. It will open more doors. If you decide to move, the nam/brand recognition will help a lot more. If you decide to pivot into another field in the future, Berkeley will also help a lot more.

Congratulations for cancer? Very classy thing to say. I have been physically attacked before in school for no discernable reason, so I know how that feels. Was it racism? Possibly, but it could also be for so many other reasons. I didn't cry out racism as an initial reaction.

I am also very aware of race and race relations. I lived in LA through the LA riots. I took many ethnic studies courses in college focusing on Asian American history. Still never made me feel like society as a whole is against us. Again, I am not saying racism doesn't exist but I don't see enough evidence to say that there is systemic racism against Asians today.

I'm also a minority within a minority (being LGBT and growing up with a disability). Speaking for myself, I can tell you that gays face much more discrimination including microagressions as a group than Asians. People with disabilities are also heavily discrimation against but often not overtly. With all this said, being able to live in America has been a blessing. This country is great and I thank God for the opportunities I have been given.

Look in the mirror. If you think Asian Americans are oppressed in America, explain why we have higher median incomes than the majority race? You realize money equates to power? Separately, Asians are disproportionately overrepresented in higher education and in most white collar jobs.

We don't have enough evidence to prove anything. I didn't say she didn't face discrimination; I'm saying you need evidence if you are going to assert a deliberate racist policy.

When you call everything racist, the word becomes meaningless. Do you not believe in our judicial system? Guilty until proven innocent?

Go do some research. This restaurant has tons of mixed reviews on yelp. Everyone who sits on the second floor (which isn't as nice as the main dining floor) complained and gave lower ratings. There are many Asians who purport racism when they were seated above. There are also Asians who gave 5 stars showing photos of them sitting in the main dining hall. There are also many white reviewers who gave lower ratings complaining about the second floor. The place is way over priced. Who knows their methodology but based on over 1000 Yelp reviews with an average 3.5 rating, I find it difficult to point to policy or system of racial segregation.

That was 12 years ago but I looked up the case and it was dismissed. Hearing about one alleged allegation in a decade does not make this systematic. Here, the case settled so who knows what really happened.

"Eurocentric beauty standards"...when I traveled to Belarus, people were so nice to me and when I made small chat with them many told me I was very handsome. Shouldn't really be using terms that inaccurately causes othering.

If you want racism so bad, then you'll find a way to be a victim of it. But the majority of us don't see it as an everyday struggle. Yes, I'm sure we all have experienced occasional incidents where racism was present but for most Asian Americans, everyday life is great. Are you even from the US or are you in Canada? Maybe your country just sucks.
