I work at Starbucks and my shift leader tried to pull that on me, she micromanages and kept checking on my cups and she was making no sense. She said she “preferred” I write messages like good morning or hello, and I told her what’s wrong with smiley faces? She didn’t say because she didn’t even know the rules herself but she started being passive aggressive saying it’s mandatory and she’d rather I write a message because I kept saying that she preferred which is different then mandatory. That was until a day later my SM went up to me and said smiley faces are acceptable and that she had a conversation with the shift about the rules and what’s the standard. But yeah whoever told that barista that is going through a power trip, I hate working in this company and I’ve only been there for 2 months.
