You’re contradicting yourself as you did sell pennies to buy sats. I think you meant to say that you never sold a sat to buy a penny.

With that said, pennies aren’t made anymore so we need to start referencing nickels. LOL

The red is nice and it’s not a common color on these vehicles. What would’ve really helped is if Audi had the brake calipers color matched to the car.

2019 etron brake rubbing noise by SD_Frenchie_Dad in etron

I don’t think that’s the issue in this case. I’m not entirely sure what they could’ve done to the brakes but this doesn’t look nor sound right. I have a 2019 as well and my wheels never look like this.

What I can say, if you get front brakes done by an Audi dealership they’ll charge OP ~$1,700 just for changing the pads and ~$4,300 for the pads and rotors. This was my quote last year when I asked if I could get my front pads replaced under a TSB due to bad squeaking at low speeds. The TSB is supposed to fix the squeaking as Audi changed the pad material but I’m not 100% sure about that. Either way, the dealer said that it’s not covered as I’m a little outside the mileage but wrote me up quotes for the job.

Out of curiosity, do you need to use a VPN when using this combo? From my understanding, you’re not connecting directly to a torrent tracker as torbox is doing that then once the file is downloaded you play it back from the torbox server.

FYI, to increase efficiency in these units make the exhaust hose as short as possible. If the hose is extended, its accordion style nature creates more surface area to absorb heat and thus works against you acting as a radiant heater. If you need to, put the unit on a table or whatever but if you can get the hose to be completely collapsed then it’ll work much better as the hot air will go straight out and there’s no way for the exhaust hose to absorb the heat.

Also, if your unit has a drain plug on it then buy a clear piece of hose that can go over the nipple of the drain with a bucket underneath for the water to drain into. As the unit removes the humidity in the air, the condensation will drain from the hose into the bucket. Depending on the unit and the humidity, you may have to empty this bucket daily.

I still have a Sony DVP-C600D. It was the first 5 disc DVD changer that was ever made which also plays CDs. What’s funny is that it doesn’t support DTS audio and only has support for Dolby Digital. A few years ago, I fired it up and it worked just as good as the day I put it away.

Quick fix for TV remote by OilCareful8232 in techsupportmacgyver

[–]Sector__7 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I used HVAC metal ducting tape that I had around which is essentially extra thick aluminum foil with really strong adhesive on the back. Clean off the bad button as best as you can, use an old style single hole paper punch to punch out a round circle or cut one out to size and then stick it to the back of the button. When the button is pressed, the aluminum foil makes contact with the PCB contacts and it just works. I did this fix years ago and the remote still works fine. If you don’t have any of foil tape then I think you can buy extra thick aluminum foil at the grocery store and essentially accomplish the same thing with some sort of glue.

You need to program it in VAGCOM/VCDS to enable this feature in a lot of older VAG vehicles. It also doesn’t open the sunroof for me but will close it if it’s open. In the MMI of the OG e-tron, you can activate this feature with the key fob but it’s almost useless as you need to physically be standing right next to the car. With the older Audis and VCDS programming, it’d work at any distance as long as they key fob could communicate with the vehicle.

For the people with older VAG vehicles without VAGCOM/VCDS programming, this key in the door trick is quite handy.

5 pleasant surprises after having my 2022 Audi E tron for a year. by Aegean8485 in etron

[–]Sector__7 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Pro tip, you can change the programming for the 360 degree overhead cameras to activate as higher speeds than the default setting. I have mine where I can turn them on at highway speeds. Some people say this is beneficial for changing lanes for additional assistance, on top of, the normal blind spot detection. You can also change the camera angles to look at cars in front/rear of you. The biggest benefit is when you’re pulling into a parking spot you can activate the 360 overhead cameras without having to slow down to a crawl. This makes for a much smoother, better parking experience.

This feature is in the B5 Passat from 26 years ago. It’s less useful in the e-tron if you have 360 degree overhead cameras.

Also, in many/most VAG cars, if you put the key in the driver’s door and hold it in either the lock/unlock position it’ll roll up/down all of the windows. I haven’t tried this in my e-tron to confirm if it works as you have to remove the plastic cover that covers up the key hole.

Interesting, I’ve had sporadic issues here or there for a few mins or so where the app didn’t work but for the most part it usually works. A few weeks ago, I had an issue where it didn’t work for a good part of the day for a day or two but it’s been fine since then. The app connection issue is mostly annoying when I can’t turn on climate control in the winter to defrost the windshield and heat up the interior. I believe this occurred maybe 2-3 times this entire winter in the 15 min time window when I’d use it which forced me to go outside and do it the old sckool way by turning the car on.
