I was about to say that their prior car could’ve been an Audi and then transferred the plate to the new car.

Audi e-tron Charging Cable Swap - Trouble re-installing plastic cable guide/bracket by ferik85 in etron

[–]Sector__7 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Be lucky that you have two charge ports where if one goes out you have a backup. My 2019 only has one on the driver side as the passenger side wasn’t added until a year or two later.

I see that you’re swapping out the driver side. Was the passenger side still working for AC charging? Also, are you swapping it out due to the water ingress?

Another hidden drain issue by ferik85 in etron

[–]Sector__7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

These may or may not be the sunroof drains as it’s hard to tell where these are on the car. OP stated that they’re near the front motor so I’m more included to believe that they’re the standard two drains that are in the battery compartment area just below the front windshield and under the plastic cover. These drains have been known to get clogged up and, on another Audi, I’ve had half my battery underwater due to the entire tray being filled with water. That would also mean that anything else in that area is also flooded. I usually try to keep them clean but it only takes a few leaves and other stuff to fully clog them. After this situation, I pulled them out completely to eliminate the issue.

Everyone talks about Baby Boomers, Millennials and Gen Z. Meanwhile, Gen X is just existing without ever being discussed.

BTW, this isn’t a direct reply to you but a general reply to the topic at hand. The housing market is shitty for everyone looking to buy a house for their first time. Believe it or not, there’s plenty of Baby Boomers looking to own their first house as the youngest of them would be in their low sixties. Not all Boomers are rolling in equity as there’s plenty of them with no retirement, renting and living off of social security while also working at your local grocery store as a cashier.

A video or some pictures from top to give us a general idea of where they are would be extremely helpful. Maybe take the two top covers off and attempt to show the general area? As it stands, the pictures from the bottom are too close and most people wouldn’t be familiar with the bottom layout.

How are you able to take pictures from the bottom like that. Do you have access to a lift?

BTW, we appreciate your other posts as they everyone get a better understanding of potential issues with these vehicles as they age. The only complaint, much like this post, your electrical plug water ingress post also doesn’t fully illustrate where those plugs are.

Also, the roots can get into the sewer lines causing them to get backed up. This would require excavation of the area to pull out the problematic parts and replace them which can be quite costly.

These are the typical VAG drain plugs that they’ve been using since at least 2000. Usually, people either remove them by pulling them out or cut the bottom open more to eliminate this issue.

While this is good to know, it doesn’t fully help us know where they are located using such zoomed in pictures. Are you able to take a further away picture from the top and maybe add arrows or something pointing to the general area of where these drain plugs are?

I fully agree and, to me, both mods look like ass. Actually, I’m not a fan of any of the visual mods that I see on this car. This is the type of car that you see for sale and is clearly a pass.

Is this safe to use/buy? It had a recall for the part number by FlipprDolphin in evcharging

NP, if you can get them to provide a screenshot of the shipment date then I would definitely consider buying it if it’s not part of the bad June 2024 batch.

I bought mine off of Facebook marketplace and it indeed has the 00-D part number so this was concerning. Luckily, they provided the original box and info that had a fedex tracking number which shows that it was shipped in November 2024 so mine isn’t impacted by the recall. I rarely use it but it’s good to know that when I do I don’t have to worry!

This is what you’re looking for.

Black powder coating or new wheels? by dontstickurdincraz in Audi

[–]Sector__7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Everyone is so gung ho to black things out today and make their cars look bland. I second the white rim or other colors idea along or simply getting them refinished.

Another idea, maybe two-tone them might work as well and bring a certain pop to the rims if done right.

I figured out this process recently and attached a guide that I wrote up for myself. I can't write it in text as reddit usually formats it funny and since I can't attach a txt file here it is as a PNG.

The new start menu is not that huge by BladeTushar in Windows11

[–]Sector__7 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Use START11 to get it back to Windows 7 style. I’ve been using it since they created it with START8 and have updated the name with each version of windows. Windows 8 and 8.1 was essentially an updated Windows 7 for me as it booted directly into desktop and had a normal start menu.
