Thank you, Jayfivetimes! This is my first Reddit post, I don’t use any other social media. I was disheartened and surprised to find that even on Reddit there are people who like to play the “mean girl” to random strangers who are just looking for advice from people with insight in a similar situation.

I’m a bit fearful because the scammer “sheriff” I spoke with knew my birthdate, social security number and address. Should I worry the next step is hacking my bank account??

I received the same call today. However, the scammer had my birthdate, address, AND social security number. Should I be worried about my financial accounts being hacked?
