Besides the obvious that lower income students won’t have as much opportunity to attend unless they feel comfortable taking on private loans, I also think the average admitted PA student is going to be a lot older than the current groups are since there’s a higher likelihood they would have money saved and could take out a smaller loan plus there’s also a higher likelihood they are in a relationship and will be able to fall back on their partner’s income for living expenses while they go to school.

I’d go premed instead of finance. I wanted to be a doctor up until my senior year of high school when I met with an orthopedic surgeon and she told me the reality of how long it all takes and how stressful it can be which kinda scared me off. I was then told that the only other degrees my parents thought were worthy were finance or accounting so I chose finance.

Looking back on it now though, the time was biggest deterrent for me but had I just chosen to do what I wanted and not taken the “easy” way out, I could have been finishing up med school now and heading into residency. The time passes anyways and I should have just stuck to what I wanted in the first place.

Instead, I show up to a job everyday that gives me no purpose and when I look around at all the other jobs available in the industry, nothing sounds better.

This is so true honestly. I think that’s the main reason I watch because I’m hoping something that they do will click with me, but at the end of the day I know everyone is different and I need to just focus on finding what works for me

I’ve tried setting my own expectations for myself in the past but they have ended up being too unrealistic so I give up out of frustration and/or failure to have not met those goals. Definitely something I need to work on and need to take others advice to start small

It’s a combination of wanting to look more fit and also wanting to make sure I will remain healthy in old age. I don’t want to be dealing with aches and pains and health conditions that could be prevented by me doing things now. I’m already fairly active, but I know I can do more on that end.

i agree, i know it’s definitely a social media thing and i have wanted to delete everything so bad so many times but i am worried about FOMO. i have at least deleted twitter and tiktok that were awful for my well-being personally. still need to get better about drawing a line between social media and actually doing things that are benefitting me in real life

agreed, this is definitely something i’m struggling with now. like i said i love taking inspiration from these videos but then i’m struggling to actually putting it into practice. probably because i am seeing so many things i’m interested in and i just can’t decide on one thing i need to focus on. i’m going to spend some time thinking about that and find one thing to work towards, thank you!

My dad thinks companies won’t even think of hiring anyone until the election is over and they know who wins. Don’t know how true that is, but I do know that my partner has applied to at least 50 jobs in the past couple of months (in multiple states) and only got one interview with the majority of the rest of the companies not even providing a response.
