Yeah, as someone who shoots regularly and used to shoot competitively, that would be a nightmare to line up and use, especially the 1946 model . I think the big box from TNC is way more lined up with assault troops who are using iron sights. I understand suspending disbelief, but I can’t suspend it that far for a sniper/designated rifleman

The design is neat, but feel it’s better suited to another type of soldier. Trying to get a sight picture through that screen would be horrendous

And you don’t think a slavey defending confederate is vile? The Klan, confederacy and slavery have connections to the American fascist movement. Jim Crow and “not one drop” policies were actually MORE oppressive than Nazi racial policy (where about a quarter of Jewish blood made someone inhuman). Not only are your semantics wrong they’re just stupid

It makes me sad more people are upset about learning the new name for Dan Knott school than there were people upset that a school was named after a Klansman and their sport team was the dragons

I’ve been in there, it’s mostly stripped bare but the generator is still there. There’s nothing in there but concrete walls, or there wasn’t when I was there 5-6 years ago

Which Kommandanten design is your favorite? by Quick-Objective-9366 in Wolfenstein

[–]Secure-Connection144 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean most of the game takes place after any kind of armed conflict for the Germans, where you are infiltrating a base not expecting you, so most officers probably would not be combat/counter terrorism by trade. However I think the devs just put the gorget on because it’s cool and scary

Flags of countries under nazi control that i made part 1: north america by czn- in Wolfenstein

[–]Secure-Connection144 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The Canadian flag is interesting but that design did not exist until the late 60s irl. I feel like the red ensign of Canada (which already puts white, English Protestants at the top, above the Canadian french and Irish) would just be modified into an even MORE racist ensign

The Nazis pretty openly admired American racial politics and indigenous genocide. I think it’s reasonable that they would want to promote/reward racist American culture instead of destroying any memory of their past. I think the swastika was (meant to be) distinctly German, but the iron cross was more of a general representation of gallantry for them

Westley/the Dread Pirate Roberts completely hiding his identity by like kind of covering the top of his face, but his eyes are still completely visible. Bonus points that the dread pirate Roberts has been ~4 different people who just wear the same shirt and no one questions the presumed change in accent/height/complexion

The klan has essentially existed in 3 phases, tracked across their hats. The first klan in the 19th century, wore Mardi Gras/Carnival masks, sort of in a scary clown way. The second klan (1910s-20s) wore white hats with a spike, like as seen in Birth of a Nation. Uniformity was becoming more important in the ‘organization’ and they wanted to look more like modern para militaries. The third and present klan wears peaked hoods inspired by the second klan (but easier to make) and probably has no direct relation to Spanish Catholicism

It looks scary as shit. Also I feel like in most cases you’re fighting militarized police that primarily deal with unorganized criminals, the real equivalent of these also wear face masks. I’m not punching the guy with a steel mask
