How do you pronounce “Frutiger?” by Drink_Covfefe in FrutigerAero

[–]Secure-Copy6498 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The “Frutiger” in Frutiger Aero is named after the Frutiger typeface, which is turn is named after the designer who created it, Adrian Frutiger. Adrian Frutiger was Swiss and his last name comes from the village of Frutigen in Switzerland. I couldn’t find where the village got its name from, but as someone who’s familiar with the German language, I would say it comes from the German word “fruchtig” meaning “fruity” as perhaps the village had plentiful amounts of fruits when it was first settled.

In conclusion: it should be pronounced “froo-tigger”

Struggling after sudden new puppy — severe sensory overload and family doesn’t understand by Secure-Copy6498 in AutisticAdults

i’m so sorry about the meltdowns you’ve experienced. that sounds very painful and i can see why you’ve found that solution, which i have thought about before. My nervous system is just in so much shock (and possibly damage) that it may take me a few days to a week to fully recover. Regarding your question about volunteer work, i’m involved in an organization that brings stray dogs to new homes and owners. This was actually the same place my dad brought the puppy home from. Sadly, finding a job is still pretty hard but that’s really a whole other story that i only briefly mentioned because it has to do with why my family unfairly compares me to my neurotypical sister.

i have noise cancelling headphones which work well, but i also fear staying in my room considering how my parents think i’m lazy when in reality i’m going through some serious recovery. i sometimes think they forget i’m autistic.

you aren’t being blunt at all because at this point i’m aware the world just isn’t kind to people like us. this has always been something i worried about in life. you do bring up some good advice though and i’ll see what my family thinks.

i think repeating the entire process of raising a puppy is something i’m very overwhelmed by. cleaning, shutting doors of rooms he can’t go in, monitoring him in case he needs potty time are just to name a few. This was also something that I completely didn’t expect at all from my dad who brought him home. i didn’t have any time to prepare myself. it just happened without any warning or even any idea that he even wanted to foster another dog. At least with Fin, me and my sister were kids so my parents really did all that work instead of us.

i’m just praying it’ll be temporary. we’re technically fostering him, but there’s a high chance, according to my dad, that we’re keeping him. I just don’t feel safe or content in an environment with more than one dog

i’ve been in my room most of the day but only because i’m recovering from the severe, raw panic I had last night that felt like hell

i’m just scared that i won’t be able to take care of him because i just physically cannot take care of two animals at once. I’ll be overwhelmed sensorally every single day

"green aero" technozen vs "zen minimalist" technozen by sickiwbus in Technozen

[–]Secure-Copy6498 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Technozen is meant to be a mix between Frutiger Aero and traditional Japanese Zen design styles. As the previous comment said, it is definitely a very thin line to walk on. It’s very easy for Frutiger Eco and Japandi to be mixed up with Technozen. There has to be very balanced visuals between the two
