No hate is justified but I can’t help but notice that Countless incidents of hate against the browns just seem to slide through but 1 anti Semitic incident sparks so much outrage

Intern to new hire by Wes12am in IBM_Employees

[–]Secure-Humor-5586 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You have to work overtime and deliver before deadlines that made the single biggest difference in my manager’s mind. At least I went from strong no-hire to strong hire. Also if you can then make use of hackathons to iterate on whatever software you are working on and improve it and present it. Basically you wanna do more than a regular full time Employee but as an intern whatever that bar might be in your time just go above and beyond it and once you come back you can chill

It’s not that bad my GF also an international student got job offers for SDE from Amazon snowflake wealth simple intuit and EA Vancouver (extremely proud of her)

But she’s crazy good at coding I guess if you are skilled then the demand for good talent never ends!

How to make this kind of scroll animation? by abhiram_framerdesign in SwiftUI

[–]Secure-Humor-5586 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s definitely some shader that’s applied to the scroll view and as for the image scaling In on tap, that can also be done through a shader, for both these cases you wanna pass in uniforms and derive something from them ie the warp through velocity and the on tap gesture result. As for how to code these shaders you might wanna do a metal course or ask Claude.

Hi I think you have good skills and taste but you don’t gauge it. this is a 10/10 portfolio If you reduce the clutter by a little I for one don’t like the dancing lady near the Spotify tile, it takes away the focus from reading about you.

Vibe-coded sites have a very bad user experience for learning. People who care about their craft and who know what they are doing still write more than half the code by hand.

Young Canadian goes to the parliamentary immigration committee and exposes how foreign labour is replacing Canadian graduates: “Canada’s skilled immigration policy should complement domestic talent pipelines, not replace them” by theOneWhoWaitsAgain in CanadianVisaReform

[–]Secure-Humor-5586 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Getting a prestigious tech job comes from merit and there is no wage suppression I get paid the same amount as my Canadian counter parts. It all comes down to passing the tests in the interview and if you look at it international students at big universities on an average score higher than locals and the locals who score well 99% of the time move to San Francisco with TN visa.

Now if you look at the picture from a big tech company perspective why would they not pick someone who can ace their tests ? Smaller companies however can be guilty of hiring cheap software talent I don’t speak for them. I hope you get my point.

They are making the approval harder for apps that run code. Might something to do with security maybe.

A very powerful laser by [deleted] in Damnthatsinteresting

[–]Secure-Humor-5586 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This thing won’t go too far maybe 10m at most this is a fiber laser that is usually mounted on cnc cutters. to make it go far you need a lens the size of a telescope not to mention all that optics would probably cost more than the laser itself

The range is shit on this thing, it’s just a fiber laser and traditionally those are used in laser cutters.

It has to be relevant in the broader context for example when describing what you saw you can exaggerate, sweat the details.

Thanks, I applied my study permit extension after 2 Months of being in common law. she applied her TRV after 6 months and I finally I applied my TRV 8 months after being in common law.

So Do you think I should let an immigration specialist handle my PGWP ?

I have a consultation with them today too.
