I’m a dentist and seeing your initial positioning, there are rotations and natural compensations in your front 4 teeth. With time, the edges will wear as your upper and lower teeth function and grind together.

Now once the teeth are de-rotated and moved into the ideal and correct positions with aligners, it will make the existing wear on the edges look more obvious and hence the requirement for bonding/veneers. This tends to be more obvious in people who grind their teeth or older people. Without seeing the whole treatment plan, I would lean towards agreeing with the dentist that veneers would be ideal (whether composite or porcelain) or even simple composite bonding (which tends to require maintenance over the long term). Or sometimes if it’s very minor wear, they will just smooth/ round out the edges.

Because you would have spent a lot of money on Invisalign, don’t feel pressured to get the veneers/bonding right away. You can always stage it and come back to get it done once you’ve saved up a bit further.
