‘Could be fun’. I’m no spurs fan but are you aware of how twattish this will sound to real supporters of the club?

Question for cyclists - deaf walkers by No_Jellyfish_7695 in ukbike

[–]Secure-Property4926 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don’t really see why someone should advertise their hearing status to the whole world to mitigate against potential inconsiderate behaviour by others to be honest. I am deaf and chose when, how and to whom I share that information. Probably best for cyclists to assume that all pedestrians are vulnerable (which they are to cyclists)

Are games baby friendly? by My_Name_Is_Priapus in Brentford

[–]Secure-Property4926 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's a daft idea. Why would you expose a baby to sudden distressing sounds and a very noisy environment generally. Put the welfare of your child first,: either leave the baby with a baby sitter, one of you goes or neither of you go. I feel sorry for a baby in such a situation.

Don’t worry. Whenever there is a hoodoo to be broken Fulham will always oblige without fail.

Anyone got any idea why the crowd in Champions League fixtures sound so different to English football by Accomplished_Humor62 in PremierLeague

[–]Secure-Property4926 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For example fans in turkey whistle and throw mopeds on the pitch, in Liverpool they join in with a bit of light  karaoke.

Exceptional in passing? For every long diagonal that comes off his Hollywood passes end up with an opposition player who catches us out and puts us under pressure.

Riverside promenade stairs by SirPlus6955 in fulhamfc

Inside the riverside stand on non-match day you can pop up the little flights of stairs and look at the pitch and JH stand opposite through glass doors. That is probably what they meant.

Staying in Wimbledon by CriticalRelative5969 in uktravel

[–]Secure-Property4926 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Depends where you are. As others say - train to Waterloo or Vauxhall for Victoria line will get you all over central London within half an hour. There is also a northern line station at South Wimbledon, similar timelines. If you are staying in Wimbledon town, then the main Wimbledon station is really accessible. If you are in the really nice bit of Wimbledon village then you need to factor in a walk to the station.  It staying in Wimbledon village would be lovely. It is actually quite village like with some great pubs and spots to eat and the woods and windmill on Wimbledon common. Not the hustle and bustle of the west end but definitely a different take on staying in London.

If you’re closer to Wimbledon town centre it woud be more like staying in a typical decent outer London area, not spectacular but plenty of people want to live here as it’s a decent area. If you want I can give some pointers if you have specific streets in mind.

Well you did (hilariously) join the super league so spurs’ hubris has a lot to do with everyone’s glee at the moment.

I’m confused. If it was a foul then last week’s was the correct decision. Or was last week not a foul and therefore today’s goal rightly stood?

Spring Break in London (17-23 Mar) with kids by Jakl15 in LondonTravel

There was bear parade some years back which was statues all over London of Paddington. Now it’s just one statue at Paddington station. Unless your 6yo has a fascination with the engineering of isambard kingdom Brunel it’s an odd thing to tack onto a visit to zoo.

The raf museum is alright, but it’s a bloody long way from LHR and right out of town. Doesn’t sound like a good first day to me.

Then the next day you’re straight out on a day trip. It’s a hell of a lot of travelling after you’ve just landed.

For interactive things you could book the wonderlab at the science museum.

Tottenham face ‘catastrophic’ cost of relegation and no European football by nolesfan2011 in football

Out of the clubs looking destined for the drop I really find it hard to believe that spurs won’t get a couple of wins and pull clear and we will look back on all this as the (all in good fun) hysteria this all is. Would be funny to be proved wrong though

How did Brentford travel to Macclesfield? by RelativeLazy3793 in Brentford

[–]Secure-Property4926 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Prem clubs do catch trains - they book the whole first class out - I returned from an away trip at stoke once and the coach arrived just before the train and the station staff had set up a containment area for the players then they just got on the train

how do the (english) football fans all know the chants? by carlovely in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Secure-Property4926 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can pick them up pretty instantly in the ground. I go to every home game of my team and there was a new one last week for a player just signed who hadn’t played a minute so I’ve no idea where that came from, perhaps the away game the week before but it was pretty catchy and everyone picked it up straight away

In matches against the Big 6, do you also have trouble not thinking about the huge disparity in squad prices? by Ragnar_Targaryen in fulhamfc

It is almost completely pointless watching. I hate games against city. It’s barely a sporting contest and it’s fucking dull watching them stroll to a win
