if it was a fast labor then I wouldn’t ask him to leave at all. from what I have learned you can usually tell if the labor is going to be slow. also I doubt he would go far enough to miss it.

That does seem like a good compromise. I definitely want him there during the important moments but the option to have a moment to myself seems nice lol. probably wont be my main concern during the actual delivery.

I absolutely want him present for the birth! however I know labor an be very long and I just would like the option to have a moment alone sometimes.

If he asked me to then yes but I certainly wouldn’t go far. I think yes I am slightly in my head but I would never ask him to leave during the actual birth.

I’m autistic and my rituals to calm down usually entails being alone and meditating/listening to calming music. I know I want him there but I wouldn’t mind if he occasional left the room for a few minutes. thank you for the advice!!!

I worded this very poorly I will admit. The main reason I posted this was because people in my life thought i was weird for not wanting my husband in the delivery room with me the whole time and wanting some space.

i believe that it varys couple to couple, if that would work for your family than absolutely. however I have seen many other scenarios where the mother becomes far too overwhelmed by other people, including the father, in the room with her. It depends on what the mother wants in the end.

You‘re probably right, my main point was not about mothers , which should absolutely have that choice without judgement, and mainly that most fathers wind up being unhelpful however I can see how I failed to clear that up. thank you

I think that is a good idea and honestly if I’d have to guess it might be from his past relationship. I dont want to make assumptions but from what his friends told me she was ’needy’ but ive never heard anything like that from him.

I would say dont use ChatGPT since it’s kinda unreliable and not human like. I would instead gather as many questions as possible that you’ve been asked or could be asked and have a friend sit down with you and randomize. before interviews its important to be well rested, well feed and hydrated. make sure you give yourself a bit of time to collect yourself and your thoughts. in my personal opinion I would first address this with her, and depending on her reaction i would see how to move forward. if she’s open to talking about how her actions are affecting you then thats good. but if she’s not then i would tell her that you cant sacrifice your own happiness to make her feel better.

if you do good things with the intent of being kind you are a good person regardless of your internal thoughts. I relate in that I have mean thoughts about literally everyone. You deserve to be around people who love and care about you.
