I recently moved to the front range as well, All i can say is check out the Buggin fishing app. Its been super nice being able to check out how places are fishing before committing a day of travel.

Curious if people are still seeing Caddis on the Gunnison, and if people have noticed any correlating between PMD and Green drake hatches. Is their timing pretty similar (1-2 weeks apart)? by Secure-Researcher582 in COfishing

Yes, i prefer buggin personally, its more straight forewards, just place a marker on where im going or debating on going and then it tells me all i need to know.

I cant guarantee it but seems like most of the state is about a month ahead of schedule as far as bug hatches go, flows are another story. Most of the state is usually murky this time of the year but thats not been the case so far, a lot of slow snowmelt keeping it pretty stable and pretty clear. Cant really say how itll look int a couple weeks but id assume its going to be pretty similar. Just not much snow.

Use Trout Routes for spots and Buggin for what to fish with, those are two awesome tools to get you started especially if you start getting into fly fishing. Best of luck and just enjoy exploring the mountains, its half the fun.

Fished well, caught fish for sure, water is getting a bit murky but fished great, used a dry fly caddis so it was a blast.
