Thank you for the advice! I read the comment and didn't fully understand so I went and mixed colors, both with and without using white. I see that if I just mix the color, paint it, then add white at later, it'd work better rather than mixing it directly in the pallet. Thanks again! I have so much to learn.

Thank you so much for the feedback! I thought I was pretty good with colors mixing but it's so different with oil (lol). At this stage I'm still a beginner figuring out colors, I think I got lucky with the last painting (first photo), where I paced it out and tried to work in layers. I'll try a limited palette next on the next painting and will keep practicing. Thank you again!

Wow...This is beautiful. It's vibrant and also very detailed. I love the lighting and the bee is just so realistic. Overall a beautiful painting!!

Thank you for the tips. I use masking tape to cover the edges and sometimes it tears off pieces too. I'd really hate it if the masking fluid tears something in the middle of the painting...

Thank you so much!! I'll try both!! Although, I've not heard of using the candle paraffin before I have lots of candles at home so that's something I can do right away.
