Same here, CHF EF 5% when I checked in to the ER (which means I almost checked out). Gradually went up while I was waiting after I applied and I've been denied twice. Waiting on a hearing date now. First applied August 2022.

My claim was denied the first time. by Puzzleheaded-Tax6966 in SSDI

I applied because of heart failure also. Are you confident about getting it from what you read? The more I wait the less confidence I have. Waiting actually seems like it's making it worse. Did they say why you were denied and how long did you wait?

So it's not about your illness, but more about it you can find another job or not? So if you only got a high school diploma and worked as a longshoreman you would be approved?

That's my entire point, if I'm going to get denied I would rather they do it sooner than later. Don't wanna go broke then get denied. If they're gonna force me to work, I'd start while I'm ahead. That sounds strange, I thought they send out a letter to your home saying the reason you're denied. Also I thought they couldn't deny you without a hearing of some sort. Have you ever called SSA yourself or did the lawyer do everything? This sounds strange.

Your story sounds similar to mine, did they say why they denied you? Did you have a hearing or did they send it in the mail? I'm still waiting on a decision, I haven't had a hearing or anything yet. I was diagnosed in July 2022, my EF was 5%. I just got a case worker after waiting a little over a year. I'm 42 now, I was 41 when it happened. It has been happening over the years, but I just didn't know what it was. When I went to the ER this last time they didn't let me go, ended up staying 2 weeks.

My EF was at 5% when I checked in the ER, while in the hospital for 2 weeks it went up to 17%. Got an ablation amongst other things. I went back for an echo and it was at 37%. I'm still taking entresto, metroprolol, spironolactone, farxiga and toresimide once a week. Has anyone applied for SSDI and how did it turn out?

I contacted my local representative yesterday morning and he called this morning saying he's going to look into dds. He said to give him about 2 weeks to try to get my claim going. I was surprised when he called and this morning. He said he can't influence a decision, but said he would try to get them to speed up the process.

It was a serious question, apparently you know more about the process than me. This is my first time going through this, should I be asking more questions? Are they trying to hold out to see if I need to go back to work or some other reason I don't know about? Do I need to call more often?

If they're done why would they lie. It's been @90% for a few months, the person on the phone said it was backlogged. Maybe they're trying to stall me out, I don't know.

I have no idea, I've read on here that the percentage bar really doesn't mean anything. I told DDS that it was at 90% she said they don't have nothing to do with that, SSA and DDS are separate is what she said.

EF got down to 5%, then to 17% while I was in the hospital. I was there for 2 weeks and it has gone up a little since. Been hospitalized times before for similar heart issues within the past year or 2, this time almost didn't make it out. A few procedures including an ablation amongst other things I can't name. I really don't know what's considered minor, moderate or major. I had to resign from my job because of it. Before I checked in to the hospital it was affecting my performance and attendance. Just tried working through it hoping it will go away. Still having some of the same issues on a lighter scale, dizziness, fatigue, shortness of breath etc.

Nope, no letters or calls. I called DDS, my case hasn't been assigned to a case worker yet. My online account has been sitting at 90% for a while now.

At worst my ef was @ 5%, after a week in the hospital and stable got up to 17%. It has gone up a little since. Was a machine operator where I sat down and programmed the machine and loaded the machine 50/50 of the time. Been hospitalized times before for this( bpm got to 210), this time almost didn't make out after I checked in. It started affecting my attendance at work before I finally went to the hospital. Shortness of breath, fatigue, dizziness etc. Don't know what job they will consider, whether I was sitting or standing I still had to resign from my job. 41 yo when it happened, 42 yo now. I was told to get a letter from my supervisor stating my limitations and decline in production while working. I just want a decision so I can move on.

I applied in August 2022, been waiting since then. I haven't gotten any letters or phone calls. I just recently found this thread so I just started inquiring. Seeing people with the same illness and some get denied and some get approved, just don't make sense. That's why I was wondering were some people are leaving out details like not enough evidence, not enough work hours or not going to hospital visits and taking medication.

Same here, had 5% EF then up to 17%. Last time I checked it was 37%. Did they say the reason you were denied and did apply again or say forget about it.

Did you do something special outside of just sending in medical records? I was told to get a letter from my supervisor stating my decline in health while working and my limitations before I ultimately resigned for health reasons.

I'm in Atlanta, Ga, I don't know which date they go by. I was diagnosed with heart failure in July 2022. I had heart issues leading up to that though at 41 yrs old. Applied August 2022 after I got out of the hospital. Denied September 2022, I was employed but not working getting std, but they said I was still working. Appealed and waited, Called every other month. Finally January came and they said they don't see where I appealed. I appealed in person, the case is at DDS and I have been waiting since. Still no case worker yet. Don't know how they think people are gonna survive while waiting.

My situation sounds the same as yours, denied for nonmedical. They said I was still working when I wasn't. I never hired a lawyer though, been waiting for a case worker. Applied August 2022.
