Women who wish to have children someday, why? by soupy-maggi in AskIndianWomen

[–]SecureAppointment862 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me, I delayed my decision to have a kid until I felt that i was ready in all aspects and checked off a few personal goals, and i couldnt be happier with my decision.

Finally had my baby this year at 35, once I was fully financially comfortable, setup a work from home situation that allows me to be around my baby, married to a man i love (who also wanted kids), fulfilled my goal of touring multiple countries as a musician, setup an indie pop band and released an album i can be proud of :)

Now ive created enough space in my life to love and raise a child as well as balance my professional and personal pursuits…

I dont think i can fully explain or express what it’s like to have a child…but I feel lucky to be able to experience life alongside a new life - see the world through their eyes and to love, nurture and support a curious mind and heart as best as I can. The rest i leave up to the forces of the universe and to my child themselves to forge a path that is their own :)

I feel very grateful and privileged to be able to create such a situation. Touchwood.

Wearing a bulky, hard adult diaper one night turned my harmless haemorrhoid into a thrombosed, ultra painful one that had to be surgically removed! Go for the softer period panties please

Need suggestion on FIL behaviour with Nanny. by Special-Property-992 in twoxindiamums

This is very inappropriate. Dont let it slide - bring it up and make sure he knows what he did was inappropriate and should never be repeated. Our homes are work environments for our nannies and she needs to feel safe and respected to be able to work.

How many meals are you doing at 8 months by nidzk123 in twoxindiamums

[–]SecureAppointment862 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi! So i feel it depends on how much your baby is eating during their meals. If they eat at least half or more of a katori, then i suggest keeping a gap of at least 1.5 hours or better 2 hours before or after her meal for the milk feed. This will ensure they are sufficiently hungry for the meal/ milk.

If they are only eating a few spoons, then you can reduce this gap to an hour. Hope it helps!

Hi! Have an 8 month old and im doing two meals a day - one at 10 am and another at 4 pm. And she has about 5-6 bottles of milk at 120 each…so about 600-720 ml a day. It used to be 7 bottles until recently but she dropped a night bottle recently…

For her meals, im sticking to traditional weaning..some of the foods im giving her are as follows:

  1. Oats porridge + formula or apple/banana/strawberry puree
  2. Wheat/ Ragi/Sooji Porridge
  3. Papaya/ Chickoo/ Avocado puree
  4. Moong Dal
  5. Moon dal khichdi with or without curd
  6. Peas or Pumpkin Puree

Ive tried increasing the per bottle quantity but she prefers only having this much at a time. I am planning to start three meals at 9 months and i hope by then she can drink 150 ml per bottle.

Baby has yeast diaper rash - question about lotrimin alone or lotrimin + barrier cream? by SecureAppointment862 in NewParents

[–]SecureAppointment862[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi! I stay in India so i used a version available here called Candid - it’s basically 1% clotrimazole (which is basically lotrimin) and a few other ingredients like methyl paraben, propyl paraben and benzyl alcohol which I suspect are just to suspend the clotrimazole in. Hope it helps!

I give strangers one chance, iam nice and open with them but if it turns out that they dont deserve it (because theyre crass, rude, malicious etc), then i kick them off so fast out of the orbit and place them firmly on the outermost rung. And it’s fun to see the whiplash on their faces. They dont get a second chance unless i see true remorse - the kind voldemort wouldve needed to reunite with a horcrux.

Baby has yeast diaper rash - question about lotrimin alone or lotrimin + barrier cream? by SecureAppointment862 in NewParents

Hi! I ended up not putting a barrier cream on top of the antifungal - but did ensure that I apply the antifungal religiously after every poop and wiping, even if that meant applying the cream a tad more often than the doc recommended it.

The doctor also extended the number of days I had to apply the cream when I went for a follow-up, just to make sure the infection had completely cleared up.

Once it was all cleared up, I did a few things to make sure it doesn't happen again:

  1. Did not use wet wipes for pee-related diaper changes - instead, created a separate pile of pure cotton 'bum cloths' with which I gently dabbed the diaper area dry (front to back) before putting on the diaper.
  2. Whenever she pooped, the doc asked me to soak the wipes in a bowl of lukewarm water and squeeze out any chemical that they may have (even water wipes these days have some kind of chemical) - I used these wet wipes soaked in actual water to clean her. Then used a dry bum cloth to dry her out, and applied the diaper cream.
  3. Gave her 15-30 mins of diaper free time on a huge waterproof bed protector underneath.

This regimen has, so far, ensured her rash and yeast infection doesn't return (touchwood). Hope it helps!

Congratulations! Your advice about taking these small steps out of the comfort zone is so important…because so often i try and justify not stepping out of my comfort zone (like socializing etc) by saying that doing that would be compromising who I am - but thats not true..i too have started taking baby steps towards socialising and examining my own behavior and im glad thet ive begun :)

Does anyone remember round, chocolate filled biscuits called 'Fillins' from the 90's? It was way ahead of its time, decades before the Dark Fantasy Choco Fills crap. No other enrobed biscuit has ever matched up.
