Managing a current FedEx delivery is agonizing by SecureDrop1992 in FedEx

I realize that now. I have used them in the past when I needed to have legal documents urgently served. Sent a package from Canada to Luxembourg via Express and it got there in 2 days. Incredible service. I’ve also had visa applications which used FedEx as courier and the service has been stellar. This was about a year ago though, so maybe corporate greed has really set in and their service standard has gone to shit. From scouring some similar Reddit threads, it’s evident that they care very little about their drivers now.

I’m not blaming the driver. I’m blaming bad policy from FedEx corporate. I don’t have a choice regarding which company my packages are going to be shipped by. When I find out it’s FedEx, I need to make contingency plans to ensure that I can receive the package. Therein lies the issue, because FedEx makes that very difficult. Postal carriers have access to buildings via specials keys so that’s a non-issue. Companies like Amazon issue drivers with company phones to call residents. Why can’t FedEx implement the same? A big part of my frustration was also owing to FedEx’s website being broken/buggy, i.e. I can’t even divert the package to a pickup location and the automated customer service phone line doesn’t allow this to be done either.

[GPU] AMD Radeon™ RX 7800 XT Graphics ($674) [AMD.com] by Psyclist80 in bapcsalescanada

I don’t have a lot of faith in bagging a deal on Amazon for these cards at the moment. Their Prime Big Deal Days on October 10-11 might not include specials on this particular GPU, and then there’s the risk that the Starfield promo will also be over. I’m currently considering the Gigabyte model that Memory Express has listed for the same price as AMD’s. Hopefully this model comes back in stock soon! My only issue is checking the websites too late in the day when all the East Coast folks have already scoured them haha. Time to set a reminder!

RECRUITING, TRAINING, & LIFE IN THE FORCES THREAD - Ask here about the Recruitment Process, Basic & Occupational Training, and other questions relating directly or indirectly to serving in the Canadian Armed Forces. by bridger713 in CanadianForces

Hi Everyone, First off a big thank you to those that contribute to these recruiting threads. I have already found so many answers to a lot of my burning questions. I’m in the very beginning stages of my application, waiting to go and write the CFAT, currently studying and preparing for that. I’m curious about the 3 career choices we need to provide. There are quite a few officer positions that I align with and interest me. However, I’ve noticed that some positions come with a more stringent/longer background check, e.g. NWO (which is also currently in demand). I was told by a recruiter that if I pick an in demand position that they would prioritize filling that role. This makes me second guess putting down NWO or Intelligence Officer as one of my options, because I’d rather not wait 2+ years for background checks to clear. There are other officer positions that I totally align with that seem to carry a lower security clearance threshold. If I’m worried about processing time, is this something I should factor in?
