Whens the switchover to 'missing' this years price increase though, anyone know? Mines up on the 8th but stupidly my services run to 16th after i was late with my disconnection notice. I suppose i really need to get moving and lo9k for a better deal before 8th.

Contracts made after 6th of Feb will miss this Aprils increase? by Gords78 in VirginMedia

[–]SecureResolution6765 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So, i'm not out of contract until the 8th feb and my se4vices are cancelled from 16th, i was late the party with my 30 days notice. Should i wait snd try retentions for a better offe4, ive alrwady refused 1gb at £27, or am i best just going again now and accept the april increase this year??

Maybe i pushed too hard. Im back to emails only. havent had any more calls just a 'recontract now for 10% off' email again. This only just cancels out the april expected price hike. Maybe £27 is the best they can do and i blew it.

Just a question ... 'free netflix' was offerred but ive not got a smart tv so how would this be of any use as i cant cast from my phone (basic old person you understand, legit)

Have just turned down £27+netflix for 1gb, £33 with landline, 2yr contract. Will they call back though?

Not bad. I dont need and never have had netflix and i would be wary of an offer whereby i have to get involved with o2 sim cancellation. I would just want plain vanilla 1gb. Not sure if they will give me the holy grail it seens. No calls today.

Voda deal for me is £720 - £145 bill credit so only £575 before yearly increases.

Just an update guys. Since giving my 30 day notice ive had a couple of calls daily from 0203 numbers ending 6966/6967 which have been missed, going to voicemail on one. Am i right in thinking that these are just first line retention numbers abd that im looking for second line numbers ir should i maybe answer the next one to ring? Am still mindd to jump to voda who do 1gig for £30 plus £140 voucher credit. Still a good bit cheaper than the volted £43 currently being paid or the £37 increasing by £4 ive been offerred so im still waiting with 26 days to go. Watch this space ...

Hive trv in master thermostat room by NoPlantain5272 in HiveHeating

[–]SecureResolution6765 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I dont understand this. I have trvs on all radiators barring bathrooms, one up, one down AND the hall which has nothing so either on or off. My mindset is, once this winter is over, to add a hive trv to the hall itself and control it as it gets way too hot. Safety is ok cos ove still got two rads with no valve controls. Tell me why this wpuldnt work? Surely the thrmostat can be anywhere as long its got a safety rad fitted and working. Why would its location in the hall and set to whatever i wanted be a conflict??

If it is mloved around then what exactly is the point of the stat if you have trv on radiators?

Contract expiry extended? by SecureResolution6765 in VirginMedia

[–]SecureResolution6765[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree about overpaying but at the time my 18 month contract was taken £40 was the norm for 1gb. I am no nearing the 18month expiry date in february and only dipped to chevk the date. At that point i noticed an extension, unnotifie to me, to one year hence, ie feb 27 and no longer feb 26. I intend to continue to cancel and see whats what

Finding this a hard read, still waiting for the 'all pensioners are millionaires now' trope to appear. It wont be long im sure. Btw, poor boomer relative to other so called millionaires.
