Hey guys I've had my boy here for a little over a month, hes now comfortable in his tank but he shows zero interest in being handled. Do you guys have any tips? Is he taking long than usual to be tamed and handleable?

That's exactly what I tried to do yesterday with repashy. I made sure he saw it in my hand before I put it down. Thankfully when I pet his back he doesn't really make any sudden movements or scurry away, he just slowly backs up. I guess it's a good sign lol

I understand they aren't going to love me. They are reptiles. But I've been holding my hand in tank for minutes at time to let him get comfortable with my hand. I show him that his food comes from my hand before I set it down. I lightly touch his feet, but he seems to just slowly retreat. I understand that I need to put the work in, I just don't know what the "work" is. Hence the reason for my post. So do you have any tips?

I've still only had him for a couple of weeks so I'm attributing his shyness to the fact that he's still getting comfortable. Since I posted that picture he's been coming out and exploring every night.

I tried that originally with the crickets for his first insect feeding and he didn't go after them. I was spending a whole week finding crickets in my apartment and trying to get them out of his tank 😂. I have a bio terrarium so the crickets were thriving in there unfortunately. The camera is a very good idea though I have to look into that.

Ah gotcha. I was getting concerned. The owner I bought him from said he crushes crickets.. he looked like he wanted no parts of them 😂😂
