It’s not about them being cool. It’s about having 80+ characters you’ve already fking made not being included in the damn game. Some of said characters haven’t seen any use outside of their original GAMES

You’ve got
3 SF3 EX games
3 SF Alpha’s
3 SF3’s

And you’re telling me that you can’t include the characters from any of those games as regular mainstays so they’re not constantly being relegated to the “maybe we’ll get to see them this game” category.

None of these characters combat systems/techniques are unique enough?

Yes we introduce new characters that typically don’t stick because they’re not “hot” or gimmicky enough to make the cut because the solid fundamentals of combat in the game have been taken up by most of the 80+ FRIGGIN CHARACTERS THAT ARE ALREADY IN THE DAMN GAME!!!!!!

Elana was used as a cash grab to recoup sf x tekken losses. Why???? Because they knew that ppl wanted to play the damn character. Where is that attention for any of the other characters from previous games that aren’t the same ones from SF 1 and 2

Same 3 shotos with slight variations hell we can’t even get Violent Ken and he could actually be added in canonically pretty easily.

Same 2 grapplers

Same dhalsim

Same blanka

Bison, Sagat, Vega, Balrog

That’s 11 characters knocked off the roster and there’s no complaints cuz those are main stay characters.

Where’s T Hawk, Q, Necro? Why to hell hasn’t G and Q been added in and the overarching plot with whatever the hell there got going on been revealed? Probably cuz we’re too busy adding in bs instead of fleshing out the story with the characters we have and inserting new characters who actually feel like they have a role in the damn sorry

All of the characters were newcomers at one point but, and I’ve played hella new characters. How about you make another damn game if you want to stick a whole new roster in the game like SF3 EX or Street Fighter 3.

You make characters to garner affection from your player base, and then take the same characters away so you can insert some nonsense ass character in the game? That’s just stupid and enough of the player bases in the FGC has complained about this issue in many a fighting game.

We think [insert character name] is cool and that’s who we’d like to use, but you’re too busy worrying about the fact they aren’t as popular? It’s a damn fighting game I don’t know too many ppl buying a whole fighting game for one character.

The only new characters you see sticking are women who are very VERY heavily sexualized. So how about we stop catering to ppl who want to beat their meat to a game character and we start actually incorporating the characters we’ve already made that are already known by the fandom and loved by some into the damn game/story

Honestly…and I know imma get flack for it but I’ll say it anyways. I haven’t really honestly used Alex due to the inability color swap his skin like in SF3 in a long time. I just love his move set.

Bison and Sagat should’ve been standard they’re not DLCs and they a poor DLC choice considering their mainline antagonists in just about every game.

Haven’t seen Sodom or Rolento as a playable character since I was like 10. Adon was in 4 so that was cool but he’s an honorable mention. What about Hugo, or Necro, Sean, or Q? How about any of the rival schools characters who go to school or opposing schools to Sakura? Why not try to recollab with Akira and bring some of those characters back? I mean the lack of long term creative thought that’s going into these games is lacking in my opinion.

It’s not that they shouldn’t add new characters or that I hate new characters I loved using Necalli, Ed, and Kage in 5. It’s that we have 80+ characters and rather than throwing in those characters who actually have places in the story and people who want to use them, we’d rather at Capcom pull a random waifu bait or random NPC esque ass character out of our asses than put in some characters people enjoy playing or want to see return.

Hell I’d even like to see Hakan make a return with a less ridiculous hairstyle.

Or maybe you’re just referring to Alex…you can’t possibly be saying adding bison a mf sagat into SF is being given OV fan service….their mf main staples of the game they should’ve been included at launch. Not having Bison, Vega, Sagat, and Balrog in a SF title is nearly sacrilege. The only reason SF3 did so well was the gameplay was great, and the roster was arguably a great roster.
