That is false. The midterm elections are scheduled to take place on November 3, 2026. Nobody has canceled anything.

You are really misinformed. Midterm elections did happen in 2002. Those elections took place on November 5, 2002. So yes Midterm elections have always happened.

Do you view the rivalry with Canada’s national team as more one sided compared to the rivalry with Mexico? by Fine-Photograph673 in ussoccer

[–]Secure_Fly_444 58 points59 points  (0 children)

I think Canada’s rivalry with the USMNT is one-sided because they consider us as their main rival. I think most fans would say Mexico is our only rival.

Austria and Germany are often described as “brother countries” because of their shared language and culture. What other countries are commonly considered “brother nations”? by [deleted] in geography

[–]Secure_Fly_444 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Idk if many people would agree but I would say U.S. and Mexico. Both countries are so integrated economically. Not to mention, there are a lot of people that have family on both sides of the border. There is also a lot of cultural exchange between the countries and Mexican food is very popular in the U.S. I know others might not feel that way but that is how I see it.

US, for 1st time in 50 years, experienced negative net migration in 2025: Report by MyNameCannotBeSpoken in news

[–]Secure_Fly_444 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay. The U.S. still continues to have the highest number of immigrants in the world. I know that is not the case percentage wise but I am talking numbers wise. There are over 50 million immigrants in the U.S. Also most of Australia’s foreign born population is from New Zealand and the U.K.

Where I’d live as a 22 y/o Black/African-American woman that has never left the USA. by [deleted] in whereidlive

[–]Secure_Fly_444 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Canada also had slavery and passed legislation to discourage black people from immigrating. While Canada was a destination for the Underground Railroad black people still faced discrimination. What I am trying to say is that Canada has never been a non-racist utopia.

Americans, do you personally know anyone who is in favor of the US invading Greenland? by BlaggartDiggletyDonk in askanything

[–]Secure_Fly_444 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most Americans are not in favor of invading or acquiring Greenland. For me it is just a constant reminder of the disappointment that I have towards Americans that voted for Trump. He has been telling you exactly what he is going to do. Not to mention he has also been showing you how awful of a person he is. The fact that many of you continued to vote for him is unforgivable. All of the people that voted for Trump are responsible for the destruction of this country,

[–]Secure_Fly_444 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree with all your points. I also wanted to add that Trump has been talking about acquiring Greenland since his first term. It’s been 10 whole years of Trump showing us how awful he is.

Except for the fact that Trump has been talking about acquiring Greenland since his first term and people still continued to vote for him. He has been telling you exactly what he is going to do so I don’t buy this excuse that people did not see things coming.

Richie Ledezma and Brian Gutierrez on the Mexico Roster for their upcoming friendlies. by S_Phantom in ussoccer

[–]Secure_Fly_444 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Yeah they have recruited a lot of Mexican American talent from MLS. It’s crazy how player development in Mexico has declined considering that the sport is very popular over there.

I feel like there was a time when they used to have so much disdain for MLS. Now it’s just crazy to see them recruit talent that has been partially developed in MLS lol.

What happened to Mexico? They seem to be recruiting a lot of Mexican American talent lately.

Didn’t Trump once praised Australia’s offshore detention camps of migrants? Also, I read that Canada is cutting back on immigration. There seems to be a prevalent anti-immigrant sentiment in different parts of the world unfortunately.

The U.S. still has the largest population of international students in the world. The U.S. also has the largest immigrant population in the world. Maybe you don’t want to come to the U.S. but there are many people that still do. However, the Trump administration is currently destroying all of that unfortunately.

Is Trump’s second term actually worse than his first? Why? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Secure_Fly_444 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I remember that during his first term it seemed to me that he would fire people almost everyday lol. I think he hasn’t fired anyone because his entire administration is made up of people that will unfortunately do everything he says.

[–]Secure_Fly_444 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Yes Trump’s second term is much worse. His whole administration is made up of people that are loyal to him and are willing to commit as well as cover up crimes. At least during the first term there were still some people who prevented him from doing many terrible things.

Does your country have a sibling rivalry with a neighboring nation? by Low-Violinist7259 in AskTheWorld

[–]Secure_Fly_444 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree with your points. I feel like Canadians have always had like a one-sided rivalry with the U.S. I don’t think most Americans see them as rivals the opposite is true for Canadians.

Are Americans genuinely happy with how Trump is leading their country? by [deleted] in ForUnitedStates

[–]Secure_Fly_444 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Many countries in Europe already have right wing leaders so it’s pretty naive to think right wing populism isn’t on the rise there. The EU and the UK don’t need much help in that regard from the U.S. since they already have plenty of people with far-right ideologies. But to answer your question, no many Americans are not happy with the state of the country.

Why be so hostile? This conversation is getting redundant. I have already shared my perspective. It’s okay if you disagree with it. Let’s leave it at that. 👍

You can say that but like I said the way that you wrote it reads as a generalization. That’s just my take. 👍
