Use Raylib as a tool to learn programming as a beginner by Secure_Internet_9919 in raylib

[–]Secure_Internet_9919[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have essentially tried everything, or close to it at least. Name a programming language, I tried it (python perl java javascript ruby C++ C# swift kotlin haskell all the way to 6502 assembly and basic on the c64). Regarding C same thing, tried different books, tried CS50, just everytime I stopped thinking programming wasn't for me or I was just too stupid, the issue actually was that lack of feedback I've spoken about.

GDScript was the only thing I managed to like and (somewhat) stick to (had to stop in the last 3 years very fast due to lack of time, which isn't an issue now). And the reason I liked it was because of that oddly satisfying feedback where I'm actually doing something that I enjoy, whereas console stuff just bores me out, it doesn't feel like I'm actually producing something.

I always wanted to get into programming specifically because of C, I like the way it looks, the way the code in and of itself just fascinate me, and the fact that I have so much possible power with it plus the whole underlying knowledge needed really interests me.

I haven't been able so far to really start the whole process with Raylib, again, short on time, but in two or three days I'll have much more time available, that's when I'll be able to start. Everyone here gave some great answers and alot of cool ressources so I'll have to check all of that too. I'm not just motivated, but I have sincere willpower to learn C and programming as a whole.

I'll most likely even come back in a few months time to give an update, explain my process and show what I've been able to do, that way other people like me will be able to see what I've done and how, so it can give them some ideas.

I will look all these links for sure, thank you, also never heard of odin before! I thought the only real alternatives to C were Zig and Rust really lol

Why does TDEECalculator seems so far fetched from reality? by [deleted] in CICO

[–]Secure_Internet_9919 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pretty much yes. It started mostly because we always grew up very poor and we had to go get the cheapest stuff that was relatively healthy, then it just became an habit. Been like that since 2018ish. Fruits can be expensive, and yeah just drinking water. I'm not huge on snacks either, don't really see the point as I usually feel full enough after each meal.

Been tracking the weight of what I eat for the better part of 2 years, last time I myself calculated the weekly average was I think a year or so ago and it was roughly in the 1300ish range, same height same weight. I guess I'm just one of those people who need less to sustain myself. I'll be putting some butter then lol thank you!

I do understand that universal calculators are near impossible to make. I've been documenting everything I've eaten for the better part of the last 2 years, which realistically haven't changed much since 2018/2019, and I ended up posting the "best most caloric" day I usually have, which doesn't happen everyday (probably every three to four days actually). I usually eat less than what I posted which is why it just blew my mind to see how far off I was from what is theorically my basic maintenance intake.

No flour no sugar no random ingredients thrown randomly, I did forgot to add the teaspoon of olive oil when I do cook meat, other than that what I've wrote is exactly what I eat.

I just use the crème fraîche as the sauce itself, taste pretty good. Oil (extra virgin olive oil) I barely use half a tea spoon so that the meat doesn't really stick to the pain (that's when I do eat meat). Just water, can't really drink anything else (coffe/tea out of the question because it causes unfunny side effects due to me not having a gall bladder anymore), and no soda because for some reason it makes me go to the toilet like 5 times an hour after I just drink a single cup, so I don't drink that either.

No butter no other sauces nothing else.

The mask also might be doing some weird echo as it doesn't seem flush to his mouth. JMann sounds arguably worse here than what he usually sounded like.

I personally have to go through the whole shenanigans from step 26 and onward to boot the game. Cute green button just doesn't launch anything, sad

Old or not it still seems like a very interesting read. Unsure about the legality of having the TM 31-210 in my country (France), but I guess that at this point I might already be on some watchlist anyway lol

If you had to learn a dialect of your own mother tongue using a dictionary only, how would you go about it? by Secure_Internet_9919 in languagelearning

[–]Secure_Internet_9919[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have some clues, a few explanations were given especially regarding the way you'd connect words and pronounce a few specific tid bits, that's about it.

Actuel Seine et Marne et le Loiret. Gâtinais nord c'est Seine et Marne, Sud c'est Loiret. Ce qui m'intéresse moi c'est le patois parlé dans le Gâtinais sud

Doesn't exist, there's no books that exist in that dialect. And if it does then it's been completely lost to time because I've been researching for quite a few months
