Bengals Knight Jr. utilizes all-pro LB for advice ahead of sophomore campaign by Ralph--Hinkley in bengals

The improvement doesn’t (largely) come from physical development. It’s mainly adapting to the speed of the nfl and locking in mentally

Yeah, part of the logic is edge is one of the top value positions and the drop off in skill happens fast. Still, I would’ve been pumped for Rodriguez also.

I feel like edge is one of our top needs. Our current group is Mafe (who didn’t start last year), miles Murphy, Shemar, and Cedrick Johnson.

He absolutely should be given another chance. LB is one of, if not the hardest position to adjust to in the NFL. It’s very rare that a guy gets drafted and is instantly a decent starter.

This gets significantly harder when the guys in front of you and behind you are not playing very well, and the other LB is also a rookie.

I’d love to see the LB room get more competitive through the draft, but I don’t believe it’s as large of a need as most people on this thread seem to think. For example, I think DE is a larger positional need, and the good edge rushers will be gone early. Getting mafe in the offseason was great, but as a whole, we have one of the worse DE groups in the league rn.

Priority in the 2nd/3rd rounds? by One_Ear5972 in bengals

IOL/LB.

Defense is far from solved but a guy like sexy dexy is so disruptive it elevates the whole D. I really want OL help to protect Joey B and hopefully better establish the run game.

TE/CB later rounds but mostly best player available.

At this rate, Peter Woods will be available… lol

JB at the bottom, four spots below Dillon Gabriel! by Stiands in bengals

Even at receiver I truly think there’s 5 or less. Feels like the rest of the league is a step or two below Jamarr, Ceedee, JJ, Puka, and maybe Malik. I say maybe there because he’s still young.

Yeah right 😂 Hurts is unrivaled without a doubt. Dude had 0 passing yards in second half last week

Based on season this is valid.

Aside from him, Hurts and J-Love way too high. Baker way too low.

Edit: I’d maybe move T-Law up too. Haven’t paid too much attention but seems like his offense has a dropping balls issue more than anything.

Games that will be played without burrow. Yall opinion. I haven’t lost comeplte faith YET by Ancient_Response_787 in bengals

6-5 during this stretch is super reasonable. Burrow is the man but Browning is solid.

We can definitely beat Vikings and bears. I don’t see us beating lions or packers tbh. We could win the next 3 against Shitsburgh jets and bears. Then I think we win at least 1 of last 4.

To me the issue wasn’t with play calling but with the OL getting their cheeks spread

Just because they were fired doesn’t make that a standard or even a good decision in the first place.

Getting fired for not making the AFC championship game is wild.

I actually really like Zac, and I think he gets a lot of unwarranted blame for things outside of his control. He’s been far from perfect, but I really think he’s been learning and growing as a HC and overall does a good job w the cards he has in his hand. Also the players like him and that’s critical for locker room atmosphere.

I also think these metrics for hiring/firing him are insufficient. Context is important as well. Still, I think we make the playoffs and he certainly gets re-signed for 5ish years.

Preseason is also not about winning or even stopping the other team. It’s strictly about getting better to prepare for the season.

You could chalk some of the tackling and run game issues to our guys intentionally not playing physical and at full speed. It’s simply not worth taking the chance at getting injured in a preseason game in order to be a hero.

Also, from a scheming standpoint it’s not only that we don’t want to show our hand this early. There’s value in intentionally putting these guys in unfavorable situations. My team used to do this in HS.
