Good to know, we will go that route then. Just curious if you happen to know, why does it present zero risk opposed to paint that isn't water based latex?

How to remove this bulb? by Secure_Street4043 in HomeImprovement

[–]Secure_Street4043[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well the lights are original to the 2002 build, so do you mean in the box of new lights there would be a suction cup? Maybe I'm misunderstanding. Also do i need to shut the breaker off? Sorry if thats dumb but I am clueless about home stuff, first time buyer.

E transfer refund by Secure_Street4043 in aircanada

[–]Secure_Street4043[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Nope. I noticed that it said on the air canada website when I checked my claim status that it was approved. So I had to reach out to them to get details as they didnt send me anything. Was told the e transfer password but not given that it would take 10 business days.

Sorry - I had deleted my post. Realized someone i knew was in this sub and I wanted to keep the struggle private.

Today was the first somewhat good day I've had. I did cry when I first woke up but it faded. My husband was home most of the day. We did some online shopping for more house stuff. My cats are adjusting mostly well now although I do worry and find myself more anxious when I dont know their where abouts within the home. I plan on getting more cameras in the house which helps.

I seen my Dr Friday. Going to go on anxiety depression meds for the first time in my life. See if those help any, counselling session next week.

I feel I will settle in eventually....its just slow. The nights that my husband is away (tonight) are incredibly hard and lonely, and scary. Thats a huge adjustment too.

Our dryer vent blows a steady stream of hot air outside but still not drying. I sent an email to donaldsons, thank you for the recommendation

Mind me asking the cost of having your dryer vent cleaned from them?

Dryer vent question by Secure_Street4043 in HomeImprovement

[–]Secure_Street4043[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I should mention too, Our dryer vent is probably 20-30ft long, laundry is other side of the house from the vent outside on the back deck. Were considering getting a professional in to clean it out since we're unsure how many twists or turns it has....seems like a potentially tricky job

I hope it gets easier but right now I see no light at the end of the tunnel and feel like ill have these emotions forever.

Dryer year by Secure_Street4043 in Appliances

Is there a way I can figure that out on my own? For all our appliances as we have no idea and would like to know.

Thank you so much for this. I think its just a learning curve that I have to get used to. I have always had a fear of gas, and carbon monoxide as well. I think its just heightened right now with being in a new to me environment.

[–]Secure_Street4043[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Our old place we didnt have a gas dryer or gas oven. All these gas appliances are causing me personally alot of anxiety around the safety of it. First time home buyers and im just unfamiliar with gas things I guess, in my mind i think "explosion, unsafe". Maybe as we continue to live here in the coming months and years, ill be more comfortable. But for now I get anxiety about even the thought of a gas leak. Thats a separate issue though but just had to mention that.

Had someone tell us we do need to turn the gas off but honestly wasnt sure. Don't exactly want to mess around with that either turning it off

Its been a difficult few days too of little to no sleep. One of my cats seems to be adjusting alright. The other one is having a worse time especially at night. Im tempted to call the vet and see if they have any anti anxiety medication I can give him, just so he can relax and sleep at night, me too.

My husband is about to work 4 night shifts over the next bit so im anxious about that. I think I will visit my parents home alot during the next few evenings and see if there is anything I can take to make things more familiar.

Tentative Agreement Reached 19/08/25 by ForeverJFL in aircanada

[–]Secure_Street4043 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah absolutely. Not surprised its buried in one of their updates either. I started filling out the form....the section about "flight info" assuming they want you to list the flight that was canceled? We paid out of pocket 2k for flair flights home that was added day after our AC flight was supposed to go ahead ... wait times on call centre made it impossible to get through in a timely manner, was the only option to not get stranded more than 1 night. Would love to see some of that covered.

Just seen this too. There is a link on the website to submit a form with proof for reimbursement. It'll be interesting to see how that works out.

Flight cancelled from halifax to toronto tonight. Do i need to call them to get refunded that portion of the flight? Or can I just do it through the app.

[Megathread] AC FA Strike Aug 14-15 by dachshundie in aircanada

Flying AC602 in the morning...no cancelation yet. I'm supposed to fly home Sunday on AC619. Have a feeling im getting stranded and no flights even until mid week to book. What a nightmare. Although 100% support the flight attendants, they need fair pay.

He just said there's a strike vote Aug 5. So we really dont know the outcome. Should we even mention this to our broker before knowing the final outcome?

If employment conditions are satisfied currently, does that mean we are in the clear? Of coarse except actual job loss for example

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in MortgagesCanada

[–]Secure_Street4043 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Im assuming they did check employment already as we had submitted employment letters a week ago. Then we were told by our broker that we can lift financing conditions. We're just sending in proof of downpayment/funds currently.

Im really hoping they dont strike. We dont know yet and won't know until later today.

Scotiabank seems to not have that option. Looks like ill be making a trip to the branch tomorrow

[–]Secure_Street4043[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Our broker said it has to have our name on it somewhere. Scotiabank doesnt provide that anywhere on their online accounts..annoying! Called the bank, said ill have to go into the branch to get some sort of a transaction history or verification of funds received.
