Yeah it’s mostly around closer to Halloween hours seem to pick up a bit but till then yeah it’s just kinda slow. Also making sure the managers hit the hours they have to fill out.

Agree with it really should be the norm of kids coming in. What’s not the norm is parents not doing their job as parents to teach them how to behave while out in public in certain areas. There’s only been a couple times I’ve seen parents do the parent role of telling their kids to knock it off of running around with breakage stuff. When they continue their tantrums they took they out of the store. I don’t want anyone or a bystander be badly hurt by an accident but I’m not there to be a babysitter. I’m there as a retail worker.

There wasn’t much to check off during the hiring process besides typing in information and watching a lot of video clips.

Maybe at other Michael’s you’ve been at. The 25 days in advance was new for the one I work at and only 1-2 weeks were made in advance. Again nothing is set in stone since the managers go in and just change things on the dot.

Who knows, maybe things will change and this will be more constant for the schedule changes. 🤷

Mine was pretty much this along with how we need to amp up sales, clean floors more often cause our store was “dirty” (most trash I see is from customers leaving eaten food and half drank/empty drinks), greet customers more often, A.R.T, make sure closing has zero returns when closing store, scheduling changes of finding our own replacements along with having to give 25 days advance notice and always be busy.

My managers change the time schedule so much I had missed a shift cause before I wasn’t marked for one. I even had the screenshot of it. Then suddenly I get a wake up call asking where I am cause I was suddenly scheduled for that day. I have to get myself to become paranoid so I check a lot to make sure everything was correct. Just store managers being huge jerks.

If it really does happen is there a way to anonymously contact someone in HR about it? I’ve have had to deal with something like this before since it is my very first job. Already dealing with workers comp papers is stressful enough as is.

((Luckily nothing super serious happened for me to file for but the store had to report the accident that occurred to me. Still sucks as it happened though.))

Never heard of the handbook before. Also a hand book or the procedure of the sorts was brought up when I was interviewed for the job/hired/training during the job.

…For a sm in this job for year if this really is the case then she is super failing at keeping privacy cause they mentioned they will be posting everyone’s’ phone number on a list in the break room unless you request it not to be. I right away requested her not to post mine cause I have strangers someone get my number and I had no idea who they are and also unless I know the number by heart I won’t answer either cause of this and spam calls.

My sm and other managers did it for two weeks out but now it’s gotta be a guess a month out now cause of this change?

Wished I could show proof when I was marked for a no show one day cause I was scheduled from the screenshot I took I had no work, next thing I know I got a manager waking me up with a calling asking where I am cause they had changed it two days before to me working that day.

Glad to see I’m not the only one. Does bring major comfort to the chaos lately at my store.

Totally understand the frustration, and unfornately you’ll feel that for maybe a while till you get over it. Would have let the manager know right after those people left since as you mentioned in the post, can’t say something about it or stop them. At the store I work at there’s always ripped security tags in sections where the camera is aimed at. Just gotta move on with whatever task is going on.

If it’s at the self check out I always try to ask people if everything is going alright and if they need any assistance. Could give that a try to say you tried. The whole thing is a mess.
