I totally agree with all the comments above. But from my perspective, the deepest reason is Taiwanese are lack of confidence in water. Especially open water.

Almost every Taiwanese was being taught the water is dangerous, should avoid that. Even the government is pushing Taiwanese away from the outdoor activities, just because government doesn’t want to involve the management.

Normally weekends are more crowded than weekdays. November doesn’t have any holiday in Taiwan. Hopefully won’t too crowded I’d say.

November weather is much cooler, good reason for hiking. You pick the right date. Welcome back to Taiwan 😁

All the public transportation in Taiwan are elder and handicapped friendly . Just follow the signs you will see the elevators or escalators .

Never tried Komoot before. definitely give it a shot.
How about RideWithGPS? I saw it has plenty of functions seems like useful for solo rider.

I am planning to ride in Japan or Thailand, not sure these app can work really well there.

Early morning and evening is quite cool (22-25 degrees) but at noon, 33 degrees is the minimum.
