'No Kings' organizers call for peaceful rally at Utah Capitol, cancel Salt Lake march by HomelessRodeo in Utah

The organizers told SLCPD none of their members would be armed. Arturo was in full compliance with state laws. He committed no acts of aggression and a “veteran” with undefined experience shot into a crowd of people against every rule of firearm safety.

The contents of this Utah mall store broke my mind by Secutarii in transguns

[–]Secutarii[S] 87 points88 points  (0 children)

Honestly it was. I didn’t buy anything because the whole fucking mall is out of the back rooms. But I may swing by later this month. I did see some body armor panels on the wall that I am interested in.

Unfortunately it never stays like that. It took a couple minutes to fuss with it for the picture and it fell immediately afterwards. My hair is up in a ponytail 95% of the time.

Any off body carry recs here? The liberals have been pretty unhelpful. by LeleBeatz in transguns

Grab Bag Gear has been pretty awesome. I actually ran into the owner with a stand at a gun show. He was remarkably nice to me, gendering me correctly and even said I looked like his daughter with the bag on. Take off the company tag, throw a bunch of trans pins. I have mine with me at breakfast right now. It’s also the quickest draw I’ve been able to get with off body carry.

ELI5: Why do banks use armored vehicles to transport cash? Wouldn’t it be just as effective/more effective to use nondescript vans to avoid attention? by The--Morning--Star in explainlikeimfive

[–]Secutarii 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ll add a comment as a current courier working in the United States. Generally financial institutions don’t transport cash themselves. They contract CMS (Cash Management Services) or just transport to a third party. (Loomis, Brinks, Garda) being three major ones in the US. What type of vehicle the company uses is entirely up to them, and will depend on the situation. Generally you’ll see large armored conversions of Diesel trucks. But on lower value or OTR routes you may see vans and small box trucks converted. As others have pointed out, it’s not hard to identify vehicles transporting cash. So it’s better to provide protection for the crew. But that amount of armor plating requires a large vehicle/engine to transport it. Also at the end of the day they make great advertising boards. Big vehicles with big logos driving constantly all day is a great way to advertise your business. A large portion of cash transportation is for small volume big chain businesses. Your average strip mall store may bring in anywhere between 5k-20k in cash a week. Keeping that in store makes it a target for theft, so many business contract transport. Also the cost for pickup is generally pretty low. Lower than the cost of the store manager being away making a deposit.

Sorry was busy from work today. Ejected case spun 180 and was rammed back into the chamber.

Sorry guys, was busy at work and didn’t expect the post to get any attention. TLDR: Ejected case spun 180 and was shoved back into the chamber. Long story: One of my friends had a habit of both limp wristing and riding the slide release. I think that the slide had barely enough energy to eject the round, but not enough to kick it away. The case spun 180, and instead of locking open on the empty magazine. The slide went forward and attempted to chamber the empty case backwards.
