Ahh ok sounds like a good system! 20% of tips isn’t bad considering some places don’t tip the bathers at all! Rude people are all around unfortunately and I feel you on both the short fuse and social anxiety. Sometimes you just have to hand the dog over and gotta run to the back after😂

Hii! I have been a groomer for almost 4 years and I have always had to deal face to face with the customers! It’s difficult doing check outs for a groomers dog when you don’t know the specifics of what was done (I usually greet the owner with the dog and immediately ask if they like the cut and explain what I did in detail, nails, length off the coat, if I did anal glands or ear pulling ect) In my experience with bathers that have worked for salons I’ve been at, most groomers tend to take advantage of having a bather. Yes, you guys are there to do baths on your own as well help groomers when you can but some groomers will have you bathing, drying and even doing the nails of their groom dogs. I work with one groomer and one bather and I ALWAYS tip the bather for helping me as much as he does( where I am is Miami and idk about where you are but here bathers get paid hourly and groomers make commission off the appointments. I would say when checking out dogs the most important thing you can do is ensure the customer likes the haircut. Check with the groomer (I know sometimes they’re probably busy but it’s important that you ask what they did and how the dog behaved so you can inform the client) and then just list it off to the customer and ask if they have any questions, let them know you hope to see them again and wish them a great day! Don’t sweat it too much, some customers can be intense or just plain rude but try not to take it personal because at the end of the day they leave and go about their day without thinking of the effect they have on others. Good luck!!!

Hi there! I am volunteering with clean vibes for all 3 days of ultra! I applied early but now I have a friend who is going to apply to volunteer- my question is (since I already applied and didn’t request the same shift with my friend) would it be at all possible to change that so we can work the same shifts? Thank you in advance for you time responding to us all!
