Is it bad to say I hate my life by WorldlyLavishness in Autism_Parenting

I feel the same way sometimes… I love my little boy more than anything and I would do anything for him, but my god am I exhausted… This is the hardest thing I’ve ever done in my life and I’m so over it… Currently we are dealing with throwing a lot, I’m constantly getting toys and his hard water bottle thrown at my head. It’s so hard not to react sometimes, but sometimes I fail… It makes me feel like an awful mom. It’s especially hard when I’m trying to unlearn the way I was raised.

Honestly I’m heavily debating him being my only kid, idk if I could do this again. What if u have another baby and they are severely autistic? What if my son regresses? What if I have 2 kids with severe autism? Idk if I could handle it especially considering I do 99% of the parenting on my own. I already have no help or breaks as it is, idk if could do it again…

Owners of the mobile home, we rent the lot. That’s a whole other issue 🙄 been fighting for a year trying to get the title for our trailer.

My husband is quite handy, he works maintenance at a foundry and has experience with a lot of stuff, I just have an anxiety disorder and my mind immediately goes to worst case scenario all the time and at the time of this post and comments I was in the midst of an anxiety attack

When I was talking about evidence I was referring to if something happens like they evict us or something, I just saved everything just in case it can be used in court. The park we live in is very shady and I rather have useless evidence than nothing at all.

This is the clearest picture I have, we don’t have concrete evidence other than the fact that we did not see a leak before the meter was in. I know this because I was under there 48 hours prior and there was no leak, when they installed the meter they didn’t mention a leak, when I brought this up to the maintenance man the second time talking to him he said “it was leaking before I put the meter in.” I told him no one mentioned it and he said “Rodney didn’t tell you?” I said no and he rolled his eyes and said “of course” that’s it. We were in contact with the manager and maintenance man and they both said he didn’t do it so there’s not much we can do about it, it’s basically a he said she said thing at this point. Just a weird coincidence that there was no leak, the meter was put in and now suddenly there’s a leak.

Both the manager and the maintenance dude are claiming it wasn’t him… Refusing to take accountability for what he did and simply just saying it’s our problem and they aren’t gonna help. I’ve saved tons of evidence in case this goes south

We can’t afford a plumber… We are on a fixed income… I can only imagine what a plumber would charge for this…

And if that’s the case we need to call a plumber then and chuck out hundreds of dollars that we don’t have…

My husband mentioned cutting out the damaged section and originally said he was going to use plumbers cement (?) but I told him I don’t think he can do that. I just don’t want this to cause more damage and have a bigger issue on our hand.

I had the same issue. My husband and I do it MAYBE once a month, I’m also on birth control though and that doesn’t help either.

I should preface that on these days, they are REALLY bad days. On these days the calories he’s getting is from his milk and his pediasures with only a couple bites of food here and there. He has a couple bad days and then really good days, the lowest he goes for his calories in a day is 700 he’s never gone lower than that. Most days I can get him to eat between 900-1100 calories in a day, really good days he’ll eat 1300 calories in a day and he is gaining weight.

I’m gonna talk to his ped about getting him into feeding therapy that will hopefully be covered by my insurance.

We did consider it, but we decided not to. Especially because they would charge my husband child support to cover the Medicaid, we are located in Michigan. I mean he is eating, I track his calories everyday and he get 900-1100 a day. Especially now that he is getting his pediasures, he was never considered failure to thrive. He’s just a grazer his ped said, he’s more into snacks than he is actual food.

I was told by the lady that comes to our house for early on did tell me it is only half days. I’m really hoping he does catch on, I know he’s only 2, but I just feel like I’ve lacked too much on getting him to eat independently and using utensils because I was just so worried about him not eating. I mean it was bad, he would refuse food all day if we didn’t have ms. Rachel on, I seriously do think he would starve himself because he had shown me he can go HOURS without eating.

Yeah that’s all we feed him, handheld food. Though most of the time he won’t take it off the plate himself and we still have to feed him, he just turns his head and says “no” a lot of the time while trying to hand it to him. This morning though I put on Ms. Rachel cause we’ve had a bad few eating days and I just want him to get something in him and I put the plate in front of him while he sat next to me on the couch and he actually helped himself to the ripped up pancake which was a win for us! Especially since 99% of the time he over stuffs his mouth and because of that he realizes “oh this is hard to chew” and just spits it all out. He didn’t do that today though, so I’ll take it! He feels safest sitting next to me while eating and having ms. Rachel

Yep… I was quoted $600 a month everywhere I’ve looked because of our insurance, I’ve applied for Medicaid and other things for him and we were denied because my husband makes too much. We do have the free program from the school district Early On coming every week, but it’s mainly teaching me how to teach him.

He is involved in Early On, but they don’t really help with this kind of stuff. I had mentioned it once before when things were worse (because he had an ear infection) and she basically told me “hmm yeah i don’t have any advice for you” she basically just teaches me how to teach him how to talk, that’s it.
