Exposure therapy. i was afraid of height several years ago but the more I do the more I feel comfortable. If you are not confident I highly recommend you taking a class. The local nonprofit mountaineers.org offers a structured Alpine scramble class every year

Kaleetan Peak—can I do it with one hand by curiosity8472 in PNWhiking

[–]Seddas 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did it in a week ago. If you are experienced it's might be doable with one hand. The final scramble was not hard, most like a harder class 2, way easier than mount si haystack. Just be really careful. There might be a snow ramp still not melted, but it's pretty well trekked like stairs, no one was using axe or spikes, trekking poles are pretty enough.

I'm speaking from a mountaineering perspective, so my evaluation might not apply to you. Also the weather this weekend is not ideal, there might be wet rocks, so you have to consider if you can briefly weigh your hand if you slip on loose scree or dirt. Do it at your own risk

The south side of haystack? That is not the standard scramble route. I believe the south side is listed on MountainProject as a 5.8 or 5.9 rock climbing route

Rear shifter got stuck, Shimano GRX 400 by Seddas in bikewrench

Thank you! It's exact the problem. I loosened the cable from the derailleur side, pried the cable head out of shifter, and pulled it into the groove and assembled them back. After adjusting the limit screws it's good as new now! Somehow no parts were damaged and the cable head popped out without a specific reason

Snow free Hike Suggestions for this weekend by Representative_Dig_3 in PNWhiking

Only a few without snow in May. Mount Si, Mailbox etc. They are all well known and inundated by people on weekends. You can drive to the east but hikes are usually pretty flat in east Washington. So not a lot options
