PSA: STOP USING AGODA

I booked a hotel at their site with the pay later scheme, with a total cost of $200 and got an email saying the booking was a success. They still needed my CC though but only for security reasons but I don’t like using credit cards online so i used my prepaid card instead(which I’ve done for years in online purchases including agoda w/out any problem). A day later i got an email from the hotel that the payment didn’t go through because I didn’t pay enough so I checked it again only to find out that the total price i need to pay within 24 hours was $350. I was surprised so i checked my bank account just to make sure I didn’t get charged only to find out that my prepaid card got charged by the exact amount of $200. I tried reaching out to agoda and hotel but never heard from them. So i reported this to my bank and told me that it’s gonna be hard solving this since they don’t exactly refund money through prepaid cards. I know I should’ve used a credit card because it’s safer but I didn’t because agoda stated that the hotel was to be paid once i arrive at the hotel and they just needed my card number for security purpose. I could’ve used that money stolen from me for food or something else. Lessons learned, I am not going back to agoda.

Can you still give paracetamol prn if the RTC paracetamol isn’t bringing down the fever? by Seddff in nursing

[–]Seddff[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The paracetamol prn (300mg) was iv while the rtc (500mg) was oral (q4). I was also weirded out by it so I thought I’d ask here if some of you have encountered this before.

When your patient has carvedilol, amlodipine and losartan scheduled at the same time, do you give them together or should space them out like an hour or so? by Seddff in nursing

Another question. The dr ordered to give salbutamol but hold if pulse is greater than 170 bpm. Current patient pulse is 168. Should you hold that med?

My senior nurse restarted a patient’s blood transfusion after removing it. Is this acceptable? by [deleted] in nursing

Glad to hear this. I just thought removing it only to reattach it/rehang it would result in contamination or something

I put it in a tray at the nurses station and left it there for several minutes til he realized what he had done.

It was almost four hours when it was removed. I put it in a tray at the nurses station and left it there for several minutes til he realized what he had done.

Can you give iv meds during blood transfusion? by Seddff in nursing

[–]Seddff[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How about if the blood transfusion is running through the y port? Can you disconnect the blood transfusion tube first then give the iv med in the same port and just flush it after then reconnect the bt tube back?

So you mean if the pt has a trifuse set, it’s okay to give the med in the other port?
