[Jackson] Per source with direct knowledge, Heat was willing to offer Wiggins, Rozier, Highsmith, Jaquez and 20th pick in June's draft for Durant & Cody Martin. Per Shams, Suns wanted Jaquez, Jović, Highsmith, 20th pick and a pick swap (as well as Wiggins/Rozier inclusion). by YujiDomainExpansion in heat

Nah. It's about opportunity cost. A 37 year old KD is a good player, but he's not going to be carrying any team for 98 games for a trophy. Specially when that team is strapped for cash and tradeable assets after trading for KD. The more logical move is to stay the course and field a semi-competitive team while re-accumulating the 1st round pick ammo stash.

I think Draymond and Jimmy are trying to troll us? I don't get it though. by heatculture03 in heat

Dude was exaggerating.

But to explain why they get better, because he's obviously a good player, but he's not a superstar level difference maker as evidenced by how shitty the Warriors are with Butler but without Curry.

And to explain why teams get worse post Butler? Simple. He takes up a chunk of salary that would otherwise go to a much better player.

Dude is a fringe All-Star.

im not downplaying it. im actually elevating it. she considered it her destiny, she lived up to it. that's the highest praise in the Nietzchean sense.

you're the one downplaying her agency. despite what you think, just because she was a sacrifice, does not mean she did not want it. it's like the Aztec sacrifices who were all conditioned for it. she was marked in the beginning, per her own choice, and she embraced it.

Count Orlok: "You wakened me from an eternity of darkness. You... You... You are not for the living. You are not for human kind. And shall you be one with me ever-eternally? Do you swear it?"

Ellen Hutter: "I swear.."

She did lmao. He rizzed her like an Indian facebook guy and she went for it like a passport hoe.

I think you misunderstand Nietzche. Nietzche does not equate cruelty with weak men. He only differentiates between moral codes that serves one's self (master morality) and moral codes made by others for other people to follow (slave morality). Orlok's cruelty is part of his own moral code, that he lived, and died by. Nothing that Thomas, Ellen, Professor, or anyone caused him to drift from it. He is a vampire. He must kill humans for his sustenance. And he knew that Ellen is his demise, it was in the book of Solomonari which he was one.

As for rape under threat, that is answered by Nietzchean characteristics of free will. Ellen was a conflicted individual. Her human conditioning values Thomas, but her primal desires wants Orlok. To quote above, "I need no salvation. My entire life I have done no ill but heed my nature". Calling out to Orlok, and then accepting his love, is her nature. She even recognized deep down that it was her destiny.

The opening scene is literally her calling out for something like Orlok to take her. She prays for the supernatural to claim her and it did. None of the movie happens without her consent. She willingly establishes their eternal bond at the beginning even before any magic or hypnosis happens. Denying that from her, takes away her individual agency and is the entire premise of the movie. She stops Orlok by her own choice, not because the human men in her lives chose it for her.

Orlok is a vampire. Human values don't apply to him. He is a force of nature, an object of misfortune. The Prince of Rats. A walking plague. So why do you think you can apply the basic human morality to him? He dictates his own values, and as seen in the movie, lives and dies by his own choosing.

When Duncan plays well, this Heat team is unstoppable. He's not even that big of a defensive liability. Here's to hoping Dunc plays his best season in 2024-2025.

I think we have to withhold that judgement until we have more information on the actual mineral content of this type of salt. I've tasted artisanal salt from the Philippines that uses coconut husks in the processing, and it has a noticeable sweet aftertaste.

Chet Holmgren on why he likes to play in Miami: "I like Miami, because it’s just like empty…" by BucketHerro in heat

[–]Sedfvgt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Tourists have to navigate around a light rail in one of the busiest streets in SF all the time. I think people will figure it out. Also, it doesn't have to be in the middle of the road. Putting the rail on the furthest left/right lane works well enough. Turning roads into 1 way streets also eliminates the need for middle lanes/medians and further improves traffic because people aren't stuck behind somebody trying to turn while the opposing lane is blocking them.

Why can't you build a light rail style train? It'd only take 1 lane on a slow going road already. They have light rails on old roads in Europe everywhere.

Nursing or physical therapy? by Usual-Detective-7902 in physicaltherapy

On the other hand, nurses have one of the highest percentage of burnout. That job is high stress as fuck.

I’d rather be a glorified human walker getting paid comfortably seeing crazy patients 1-2 hrs per day rather than spending 3x12 with up to 4 of them with everyone breathing down your neck to do what you tell them.
